Davy Jones Or Jolly Roger?
 

So since on sunday, i watched the first movie of Potc. Monday, i watched the second. Last night i watched the third one. So, why do ye think that Jolly Roger isnt in the movies? Or why IS he in the game?Cant it be Davy Jones? So tell me, why is that? Or why ISNT Davy Jones in the game? Why IS he in the movie? Cant it be Roger? Now why did disney put Davy Jones story line for Jolly Rogers? Why is invasion all Roger? Why cant it be Jones? So as ye see i dont think the pirate game is making any sense at all.

The movies were made first. Davy Jones appeared with the movies.
The online game came after the 3rd movie, by the end of 2007.

Jolly Roger was constructed as the new villain set for the game. The reason they could not have Davy Jones' Crew as the primary enemy faction is probably because they can't have Davy Jones' crew in almost EVERY ISLAND, can they?

So they took up skeletons, and Jolly was their leader. Since Jolly is the villain of THIS game, he cannot appear in the movies. He was made for this game, and the last thing the writers would make is a character whose characteristics are based on their 2 initial villains - Jones and Barbossa. They always like making new villains with new styles for each movie. Jolly therefore is a bit ripped-off.

Davy Jones cannot step on land for an invasion of his, but it does sound good to have an invasion from his side. Maybe as a treasure map of a chapter?

Either way Disney has said many times that Jones IS coming to the game. Check the Phase Files, old news and even refer to a post of User:Jamesvsthekraken.

Davy Jones fell in love with the Kraken Gua-err Calypso.. And he promised to ferry souls to the other side for ten years. After those ten years, he will get the chance to see Calypso again. However, Calypso decided to be miss no-show..

Jolly Roger was once a human pirate who wanted to become one of the Nine Pirate Lords. However, Jack Sparrow got the spot instead. So Jolly Roger conspired with a Voodoo Witchdoctor to steal Jack's Piece of Eight in a game of poker. However, Jack won the game anyways, so Jolly Roger shot the Witchdoctor, thinking that he had betrayed him. During the witchdoctor's final moments, he had placed a curse on Jolly Roger that rendered him Half-Man Half.. Something else..


Davy Jones and Jolly Roger's story's are very different.


Yeah, you could say Jolly Roger is a bit of a Davy Jones/Hector Barbossa wanna-be.. But in his defence, Queen Narissa from Enchanted is also a Villainous Wanna-Be(Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and Queen Grimhilde from Snow White).




Kinda funny with Jolly Roger. I noticed that he is also following in the footsteps of another Disney Villain who is not well known: The Horned King. Think about it: Both are skeletal. Both are raising an Undead Army.. Although the Horned King needs the Black Cauldron in order to resurrect his army of deathless warriors.. Jolly's just got the voodoo.. :laughks2:

Well summed-up there mate. I initially did not like Jolly Roger because of the "rip-off" but I've been slowly taking him as a more serious and darker villain especially after what happened on Raven's Cove.

And I did notice that thing about Narissa from Enchanted. She offers the princess an apple like Grimhilde and turns into a dragon like Maleficent.

Like ten years ago... when I was REALLY small, we used to have this VCR, and we had one cassette on Maleficent. She freaked me out. I actually found out about her this year and I think I might be considered *obsessed* :piratetongueor4: I hope they make that 2013 film about her. Angeline Jolie seems to be a good choice for the role.

I think Jolly Roger is a better villain and easier villain to work out of with undead, skeletons, voodoo magic under his control, able to walk on land, etc etc.

true.... :beer: anyway but would it be nice to have jones? jones vs roger for a quest he he.... you get to sneak and see them fight gathering the makings for tia dalma while some of their body parts fall off... then he re-grows and like if you get that stuff without being caught, u get a AWESOME staff?

Well, I was trying to place just where this story falls, because there's a few things we have to factor in here:
The Movies
The Young Jack Sparrow series (Reveals a few interesting things about Jack, and an opening for me to shoehorn myself into the storyline x) )
The Legend of the Bretheren Court series
And a few other books and mediums. And theirs always the lore. ..

well... wouldnt jolly roger look kinda funny as an undead dude in a movie?

Davy Jones' Crew is already in the game, if I am correct.

Possibly the strongest enemies that aren't bosses in the game, not including ships.

I would prefer Davy Jones to be in the game, myself, but what would happen to the skeletons?

Dude you are right on the money! like maybe they should switch off or something? like after the QAR is sunk the flying dutchman comes out and circles the island tormenta idk maybe there gonna do that. But i do not reccomend jolly rogers ship...... Jolly Roger is hard enough already he is got like one hit K os.... But maybe if they could make him easier on his ship then on invasions... Like QAR bosses.....
