how and why? can't i sail
 

this may sound stupid but how do i sail because my light sloop says board and i can't launch it and my frigate can't launch for some reason coz it is greyed out?? dono y plz help some1

It just sounds like a bug or game lag. Step up to a rowboat and a green circle should show up. At that point it should say press shift to enter. It sometimes asks you to push shift a second time. When your ships show up, if you click "board", you will eventually board, but sometimes it takes a while before you can see that. If it doesn't work the first time, back up and walk up to get the green circle again. Sometimes, I have to try a couple times. I hope that helps. If not, send a bug report and explain in detail what you see/don't see. Send screenshots, too, if you can.

I had that happen to me because the maintainence went up while I was sailing. After two e-mails and a day gone by, I deleted the character. I hope you get it resolved.

If you've already sailed once, and were sunk, you might just need to have your boat repaired before you can launch again.
Just go to the shack on every beach, speak to the guy standing behind the counter, and click repair.
