Just found this on the wiki NEW CANNONS

On the Horizon

Cannon customization MIGHT be on the horizon, mates. Pictures found in the Phase Files of POTCO show cannons of different length, width, and design.

I gotta admit, the first one looks horrifying. This might be ship customization, or new cannons on enemy ships. Either way, gives me hope. I shall also remind you that the phase files are only theory. But most of the stuff in the phase files has came to the game so... *crosses fingers*

These look familiar...

Captain Del 10-26-2010 12:13 AM

They are familiar. These have been floating around for months, maybe over a year, yet we haven't seen them even mentioned from Disney. Ship customization could come at any point in the furure, really.

Tiberius Fireskull 10-26-2010 12:18 AM

It would be cool to have those. Maybe each type of individual cannon gives a boost on a certain type of ammo, or gives special broadsides?

Wait, could those be from Cannons of the Deep?

WitchdoctorDan 10-26-2010 12:22 AM

I doubt it, none have the same name as the cannons from CotD. Carronade, Demi-culverin, etc.

Midhav 10-26-2010 05:46 AM

WitchdoctorDan, if you look at Speedway Master's post on the Complete list of weapon names, he also provided a list of weapon classes. Carronades was one of them.

These models have been around for a long while and in-fact were found on POF before the wiki posted it. But this doesn't mean that these are the only cannons that are coming. They probably will start making models on other cannons soon, meaning that we might get those bloody awesome Tsar Cannons and Dardanelles' Guns.

I want 2nd story, Davey jones and the kraken....which I dunno after or nearing 2 year anny of pirates..they have not mentioned nor progress the 2nd story line and boss fight.

Jim seapaine 10-26-2010 01:08 PM

the bottom 1 is cool i want it!

looks like it will blast right through 1 of those panel things on the broadsides

Eliza Creststeel 10-26-2010 02:30 PM

These images can be seen IN ACTION in some of the Pirates Online promo videos as a ship of skeletons fight a ship full of pirates. The skeletons are using the bone cannon thing...

titanic95594 10-26-2010 02:57 PM

*facepalms* Yes, I know this. The FILE NAMES do not say the proper cannon names. I have read through the complete weapons list, and know this. Carronades were, in fact, heavy British war cannons. Pirates often "found" them and put them to use. I wouldn't be surprised if the Carronade you see there is, in fact, the CD cannon. Disney likes to confuse us. :P

PS: Did you know the Dardanelles cannons are named after a narrow windy strait dividing Europe from Asia? Also called the Dardanelles, this strait was a favorite haunt of the Barbary pirates, including the Barbarossa brothers themselves!

those cannons are cool I realy would like the first on myself.

Chimera Doll 10-27-2010 08:15 AM

Thanks for posting these, I have not seen them before.
Looking forward to whatever is coming.

Are you referring to the names of the cannons under this class/type of weapons? Well they will probably be discovered along with the release of Carronades (whenever that is), just as what happened with the Cursed Blades' naming.
Ah... my basic knowledge of these cannons happened to be that they were "iron-cast (cast iron?) cannons": source: Wikipedia. And just out of question... how were Carronades in CotD? (I haven't played in a Loooong while)

And yes I do know about the Dardanelles strait. It was under the occupation of the Ottoman Empire, whose massive fortresses overlooked the movement of ships that passed through it. And this was one of the main reasons for the failiure of Anglo-French fleet in its attempt at securing a passageway to their ally Russia. Well, I learnt most of this from my History class this year  (but I have a huge interest in History after playing Age of Empires). Barbarossa? I have heard of a feudal German leader by that name (from Age of Empires II), not a sailor... Could you tell me who yer talking about?
