Why was it released
 

Here's the wierd thing fishing took 4-5 weeks to get out ,but a new story quest ,new enemies ,new weapons ,and a new island come out in 1-2 weeks? I am glad about this but i wonder why?

I am "guessing" that this has been in development for a longer time, allowing for more in-house testing on the QA server. Fair Winds!!

personally I have ran into a ton of bugs at ravens cove, I think that it could have used a little more time on test. Possibly like Chimera Doll said, they could have released it fast so they could add another big update ( possibly second story chapter) after all, you get the check hand emote after completing the Ravens Cove quest. Seems a lot like a black spot.

Not really any bugs? Uh, there are a ton. Starting with pirates stuck in their skivvies, unable to play poker, revive, wear clothes, pick up a drop, and in extreme cases even fight or heal. There are people logging into empty pirates. People are getting booted with shocking and terrifying frequency and regularity. I have a pirate that can't enter El Sud without going disco, and she could as late as last week. I've heard tell of half of guilds being stuck as skivvie pirates. We're talking high level unlimited pirates mind you. Yeah, it's full of bugs.

The only way they could find out about this bug is because of the high amount of people on live.

The ratio from test and live is probably about 1:15. 15 times more players would be a heck of alot harder to copy on test. They had no expectation of this bug to come out.
