POF Down! Medic!!
 

I seem to be a bit addicted to POF now. I tried all day to log in and the site was down. I am glad its back up, but could a Mod or Admin tell us what happened?

Aye, I was having the same problems, and I was bored out of my mind! I thought I would go insane from being away from POF down! Good to hear I'm not the only one with problems getting on POF. This was also happening for a while yesterday.

The first time I didn't give much attention to this, but this is the 2nd time this week that POF is down 2 full days ,

Today from 6 am to 9 pm , all day down. Last time was like 6 to 8 hours down.

to me it just seems that the database gets overloaded,

should be taken care of in 10 seconds by restarting mysql service, any feedback, or announcements about this? I am sure this doesn't go unnoticed..

I kept trying too... I am glad to see it is back up!

Does this sort of thing happen often??

Same thing happened to me. When I tried to get on POF it would say Database error.

I also experienced this Error. Lets hope it doesn't happen again. Without POF, how would everyone get the latest in glitches, news, and release notes?

Nice to see you guys are back up and running and all our posts are still here! I hope you guys didnt have to reach for that back up... always stinks when that happens. I noticed yesterday that a major server manufacturer let one of its certs expire and its been downing systems all over the country as some virus protection programs have been shutting down computer net services... I hope you guys were not the victim of this as something so simple was such a bugger for us to find in some smaller server systems ..lol. Best of luck guys.

This forum has been rarley visited by me, but I am glad to see it going stong even though my days on the Carribbean are over!

We've been having some problems with our daily backup of the database causing the server to crash then resulting in the database error. Nick has worked on the problem and should have it resolved now.
