POTC 4 spoiler alert

the movie is about Jack , Barbossa , Black beard try to find the fountain of youth. Will and Elizabeth are not coming back because they are insignificant to the plot.

Black beard is introduced because Barbossa wasn't thought to be mean enough so black Beard is gonna be really mean

Tiberius Fireskull 09-23-2010 03:39 AM

My official pre-review of the move: It will stink. Will Turner is by far my favorite character, and when I found out he wasn't coming back, obviously I was horribly disappointed. And Blackbeard? Really? This is pirates of the Caribbean with Jack Sparrow, Hector Barbossa, Jack the Monkey, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann (Turner now), NOT Blackbeard. Seriously? The fountain of youth? I dont like it already. Not piratey enough.

The movie is going to stink, but I will probably go see it anyway.

Chimera Doll 09-23-2010 03:40 AM

Aww, I'm gonna miss Will and Elizabeth but I'm super excited for Blackbeard. I also heard it has to do with him and his daughter looking for the fountain of youth if I am not mistaken.

Kraken Guard 09-23-2010 02:26 PM

No Davy Jones, No Jolly Roger, No watching the movie for me..

PirateMoreno 09-23-2010 03:43 PM

I can't wait to see it! As pirates we are always up for new adventures and Jack is always looking for new ways to be immortal and be known as the greatest pirate ever. I do wish Jolly Roger was in but Im super excited to see the new movie!!

The thing that kept magic of the film was the lack of Real Pirates. The third POTC had flags of real pirates in the Calypso sequence. That was really great! But we never saw the actual pirates. And Blackbeard's Queen Anne's was there.

No actually Skirata, I have to correct you. The flag which was seen of Edward Teach's, before the Maelstrom segment, was that of Eduardo Villuenelva. Queen Anne's Revenge did NOT appear for the Maelstrom. In the 4th Pirates Movie, the story of Blackbeard will be set many years after Ocracoke inlet, saying that he somehow survived the incident, and had a daughter named Angelica (whom he brought up in the Inlet). Now out of aging, he searches for the Fountain of Youth with the help of his daughter.

Well if it were Curse of the Black Pearl till now, and if they said that Davy Jones were to come in the next PotC film, you'd say the same about Hector Barbossa not being there LOL. You'll just have to wait for the 4th movie and see... They're going to make a NASTY villain out of Blackbeard, according to Jerry Bruckhemier.

This movie is going to be great because it takes a new direction since the previous trilogy. People all across the world did not INITIALLY like the third one. Neither did I. The third one has a good repeat-viewing quality which is one thing AWESOME about it. You ca see it again and again to configure through the complexities of the plot. IMO it's my third fav film of all time
But this 4th movie will probably revive the magic of PotC for FIRST-TIME viewers, or people who want to give the series a second chance. I hope it plays a precursor to a new trilogy.

Finally someone who agrees with me that it will be great. I agree completely with everything you said.
Although I might miss Elizabeth and Will, there would be no point having them in this movie.
Plus new characters are added and it's nice to see the movies going in a different direction.

I am super excited to see it - especially to see how mean Blackbeard will be...he might be a new favorite of mine. :D

Midhav 09-24-2010 05:34 AM

Aye thank you Chimera.

Elizabeth and Will are done, and most fans are only slowly recuperating from that "blow" to them (lol). Face it everyone, their story is over, and it clearly ended with "At World's End"

Chimera Doll 09-24-2010 05:37 AM

:)!
Yes, exactly! Many don't realize that.
And I am still recuperating. -cries-

Midhav 09-24-2010 05:41 AM

Lol. I never used to be a fan of either of them. I was for Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa as one of my favs, but the VILLAINS, Lord Cutler Beckett and Davy Jones (okay maybe you can include Sao Feng and Barbossa into this list) were definitely my favourites.

Chimera Doll 09-24-2010 05:47 AM

Aye, Jack and Barbossa are my favorites. Love their personalities.
Davy is my favorite villain as of now for I like his story. But I think Blackbeard might be a new favorite, especially if he is as cruel as he sounds. I love the baddies!

(Lol I was going to send you a friend request but realized you sent me one!)

Midhav 09-24-2010 06:28 AM

Jack is a funny character with a nice personality. Hector is one you'd like in At World's End... He also played a nice villain in the first one.

Lord Beckett is my favourite villain of the series. This is because he overpowered even Davy Jones, by his various manipulating tactics. There are other villains in the prequels that are also good: the Shadow Lord, Hernando Cortes, Captain Torrents, Villuenelva (he's a villain for one book), King Samuel of Libertalia, Madame Minuit, etc. I hope they all come to PotCo soon! XD

Sven Ironwalker 09-24-2010 06:39 AM

I myself will do the wait and see. It is kind of bad that a few of the main characters have been removed from the new movie and new ones added. My only possible issue is using a character from history because well... the truth is about black beard is pretty intense without fictionalizing it... As for all the movies as a whole I love the way Jack is reinvented in all the movies... He is slightly different in every movie and it really shows the quality and versatility of Depps work. I have read a lot of pirate history as I am sure many of you have and it amazes me how many little bits and pieces are added to his character making for great story telling.

I really can not imagine missing any POTC movie that comes out because I feel that in a time when most movies that are made seem to be remakes of previous works or very poor reproductions of video games, POTC represents a true original in story telling done with a fantastic elaborate set and attention to detail. I have seen a lot of pirate movies and none can measure to it in my opinion. They kind of did a good job I think in closing things out with the last movie and there are rumors that some really bad stuff had gone on to **** of actors and crew which probably is why they dropped a few characters. All-in-all I really cant wait to see where they take it good or bad. After all, where else will see and here the roar of cannons and the large billowing sail? Its the only game in town for us fans.

The Queen Anne's Revenge Is in the film. Let me find a a pic of the flag then you can re-watch the movie so you can spot it.
