Should the ability to shoot holes in enemy sails be reinstated?
 

If you're new to the game, you won't know that only about a year ago the ability to shoot holes in enemy ships was in the game. Sails weren't as easy to take out, and you'd have to be able to aim at the mast to take out the sail itself, although you could shoot hundreds of holes in the sails to slow the ship down.

Should this ability be in the game once more? I was angered when they took it out, because it felt like they took the realism out of sailing.

When I use to SVS all the time my War sloop looked like a ghost ship after an hout or two, because of all the hole. I do miss it. Also it was neat to see navy and EITC ship at sea with battle damage.

Its too bad that some of the features I loved so much about the game are gone. Thank goodness They are releasing new stuff to distract me!

Definitely! That was SO many pirate's favorite thing in the game! I miss it quite a lot!

I was good at hitting the mast to take it out. Now it seems to me all the eitc, navy and ghost ships can take my sails out with just broadsides way too easy now.
I think it was done as a way to try and level the playing field a little bit.

It was also fun to try and draw happy faces in the navy flag ships before you boarded them.

i would love for them to bring it back that be awesome and i would draw faces in the sails haha that be funny

yes.... yes yes, yes, yes yes yes.... yes. Lol sorry, but I would like it if they put it back. I loved being able to see holes in my sails, the sign of a battle. Also, you used to be able to take out parts of the masts, not just the full thing. I remember coming back from privateering on my war frigate with the tops of my two main masts fallen off... my beautiful ship looked half its size!

One thing is why did they take it out? I want this back and I want the skull heads back.

Ah yes, almost forgot about the skeletons on our ships. Although even better, let us transfer figureheads we have from COTD into our ships on POTCO! Minus their special abilities, but it would be a cool look.

I loved the sound of ripping sails and I would like to try to make a smiley face too :)

I wasn't here for the holes in the sails. One quick question, did repairing the ship get rid of the holes?
