Favorite Sword for Invasions?
 

I realize that there are many swords that my pirate has not acquired yet. Of the ones in my inventory, I keep going back to the Voodoo Cutlass for invasions. It's attack strength is only 30, but seems to work much better during an invasion than my War Broadsword which has an attack strength of 51. I also have the Monkey Broadsword & a few others. Haven't got the hang of using a sabre. Because of the War Broadsword's expansive capability-I found myself being attacked by 7 enemies on the last invasion. I also like the ability of the Voodoo Cutlass to absorb the power of the witchdoctors & gypsies. Less powerful, but seems to work for my pirate. Anyone else have any favorite choices or advice that they would care to share? :smiley-rpg028:

If your sword is high enough level, I might consider looking for Corsair's Cutlass. It's famed but its attack is 72. It has rolling attack too, and it's pretty rare.

I don't use swords in the waves of invasions much, but when I do, I prefer my Bloodfire Broadsword. Immensely strong, and can knock out a few lower level enemies in only a swing or two.

When Jolly comes around.. well, it depends on the server. If it happens to be a quiet server, I'll use my Seven Seas Cutlass, due to it's boost on Endurance, plus, since there is less defenders, I can use Rolling Attack to "cheat" Jolly's eternally long grave shackles. When I'm on an Ideal/Full server, I use my Lost Sword, as Jolly's attacks do much more damage there. Ghost Form comes in pretty handy when your getting struck by lightning on Abassa, believe it or not.

I have to admit, the military or the cavalry broadsword (depending on which pirate I'm on) is one of my favorite swords in the game. It may gather a few enemies around me, but with all that attacking on me, my Hurricane skill loads really quickly, and then I just knock them all down. It also shatters attunements while doing so, which is just a bonus. When you get to the higher levels of the invasions, it may get a little pesky and difficult to use, but a well placed tonic and I'm good to go. Of course, I usually use my pistol in invasions anyway. haha.

You and I are alike Del, I too use my Bloodfire Broadsword for the majority of the waves. However I will occasionally out one of my staffs and blast everything I see with a flaming skull. When Jolly comes I pull out my Divine Cutlass. The Cleanse comes in handy when he hits me with grave bind or curruption.

I would use a General's Broadsword, but unfortunately they don't let basics use it.:laughks2:

As stated above I am a fan of the Broadsword. All my pirates have one. My favorites are the Dragoon and Calvary Broadswords. That Hurricane Sweep has saved me time and time again.

When Jolly hits the beach the cutlass is my blade of choice. Like Cap'n Del I use the lost sword, Corsairs, Bruisers, and Black shark Blade cutlass.

I would love to own the Generals, or Brigadiers Broadsword. These would be epic during an invasion.

I don't use a sword for Jolly. Three hits and I'm usually KO'ed. Not a good thing.

I typically pull out my sword around wave 3, or whenever the enemies get too big to use Wither effectively. I then use my Bejeweled Broadsword, or my War Broadsword... at least, I think it's that one! It's the one with Hurricane Slash, but mine's only a Rare version.

When Keg Runners come out, it's onto the repeater pistols, with broadswords for everything but the Keg Runners :Pirate4:

Jolly I use a Holy Musket for. I stand well out of his range, backing up when needed.


In other words, the Bejeweled Broadsword or the other listed above.

LOVE that sword, it's the best one on Robin, but the Seven Seas Cutlass is better still with 80 Attack and Rank 3 Rolling Attack.

Personally I don't use swords durring invasions, just find it pesky to run arround finding enemies, I use distance weapons. But I'd defintly use any type of Broadsword, taking out more enemies at one time is really useful. But in your case were you probably cant take that many enemies, a Monkey/Baboon/Gorilla Cutlass would be very helpful with Monkey Panic, for when you're working with harder enemies.

Thats what I do too! Stay out of his attack Range with a Musket. And when Jolly has half his health, I go in with my Sword Of Wonders....:D(A.K.A. My Corsairs Cutlass)Jolly never saw it coming...

I normally use a broadsword that has hurricane slash. When jolly come I'll switch to Corsairs cutlass which takes him out fairly fast. I hardly ever use a sword though because I stick to using foul bane repeater. (triple barrel with unlimited silver shot)

I'd usually use my Masterwork Broadsword simply because its attack is pretty high (74) and it has critical hit. So basically i'll get a bunch of enemies around me and still stay alive because i have tonics or the critical hit and high attack level combination kills them off. And when i'm fighting jolly, i use my witch hunter broadsword because it might take enough voodoo from him to keep him from using thunderbolt and such. It's worked so far but usually he kills me XD. But lately i've been useing my staff in invasions, just because the flaming skull on the back beach of Port Royal, really works good.

Corsair's Cutlass is the way to go. Look at how powerful it is in my 1st screenshot. And in the 2nd, that's how much fun you can have with it!

I use my seven seas cutlass, it's my best friend, =) Attack is 80, it's the second most powerful sword in the game, only 4 points behind the Legendary sword
