Broadside aim?

Broadside aim went down badly after my vacation.

Is it me or the game?

charles gunfury 09-02-2010 01:43 PM

seems fine to me but the enemys are why to perfect O_O sotl can kill u in won shot if yer not careful

I have noticed that if I am sailing at a fast speed and I broadside a ship, it almost always will miss, which is extremely annoying. I do think that the aim went down... by a lot. Not much to say.

I was sinking a war sloop (NPC) when my ship was not moving, fired boardside cannons when I was parallel with the enemy ship, and completely missed! All the ammo flew over the ship's hull..

I have epic aim. Whenever I'm in front of a ship, it flies backwards to hit the ship. I don't know why you complain about it a lot in game, Dog. Haha.

the best way i found is to get as close as possible to it, in the front for war galleon, back for war sloop and frigate, and lean the ship towards the enemy. then fire off a broadside and it will almost always hit.

Maybe your skills went down.

When moving and using broadsides, you just have to get the right timing, Timing is the key to being a good ship ranker.

I've noticed my War Galleon seems to fail with Broadsides when up close to the enemy...

Rannulf 09-07-2010 12:24 PM

I spent a few hours at sea today, and alas ye are correct broadside aim is off a bit.
It is very subtle, but off none the less. I was able to correct a bit, but it is not as sharp as it was last month.

How long were you on vacation? The last reported update was on July 9th.

Dog Firestack 09-07-2010 08:57 PM

June 13-July 15th.

I sail A LOT, and I haven't noticed any decrease in broadside accuracy... When I sail, I form a T with my ship and the enemy ship, as I am parked parallel with the front of the enemy as it sails toward me. Being parallel, I usually never miss and it's usually a matter of distance whether it will hit or not. Actually, at one point I thought they improved the accuracy so you never miss when you're really close.... o_O. But, I think it's because you were on vacation.... stuff like that happens to me too :)

Sven Ironwalker 09-08-2010 03:41 PM

The only changes I have noticed is that if going at a high rate of speed it seems that the shots move at the same speed as the ship instead of being left behind so its harder to take shots in passing.... this is kind of cool because it makes more sense. The other is that the shots are locking on better. So if you fighting two ships and the computer thinks you are trying to hit a ship different from what you intend like a previous struck ship the cannon balls head for the other ship instead of the one you wanted to hit. Dont know if that last one made sense. Anyhow I think its more of a fix than anything else. I do know it was handed to me over the weekend and that hasn't happened in a very long time. Lately its been too easy to take down the ships off the coast PDF and somehow I got sunk like three times in a row with a crew on board. That hasn't happened in a real long time so whatever they did I am glad they did it. Once you timing get readjusted it will be the same ol same ol...lol
