Live Chat- Attempt at making them spill the beans.

**In my boredom, I thought I'd try to get lucky and have D spill some info. I failed, of course, but it was worth the try... I also added in some stuff about the guild competition that I needed cleared up.. ENJOY!! :D *** ps: the year long vacation was a joke, just part of my sob story haha ***

Thank you for your patience. A Technical Support Representative will be with you shortly.

You are now chatting with 'Sean'

Sean: Hello Mac!

Sean: Thank you for sailing into Live Chat!

Mac: Evenin' Sean!

Sean: How are you faring today?

Mac: Pretty well, mate, pretty well!

Mac: And you?

Sean: I'm also well! It looks like you have a question about our Test Server.

Mac: That would be correct.

Sean: The fog is not related to a quest, but someday soon it will lift and you will be able to explore this strange new land.

Mac: So how can we help remove the fog?

Mac: Obviously something is wrong in that respect.

Sean: There's nothing wrong Mac, you will want to keep an eye out (the eye without the patch) and the fog will be lifted someday.

Mac: I don't mean to get too in depth, but do you think it will be sometime before the new year?

Mac: I'd want to play it before I go on my year long vacation.

Sean: That I cannot say Mac, there are some mysteries on the Caribbean that will be revealed on their own.

Mac: Well that's too bad. I really hope it comes sooner than later. Us pirates have been waiting for this type of thing for a long time.

Sean: There's a lot of great things coming up in Pirates Online.

Mac: A slow progression I'm sure. And I am very excited for the future, but if only it would come a little faster, savvy?

Sean: Is there anything else I can help you with today mate?

Mac: Yes.

Mac: For the strongest guild competition...

Mac: Do the enemies at Tormenta count as skeleton kills?

Sean: Are you fighting Skeltons there?

Mac: I'm not sure what they are.

Mac: The Molusks and such..

Sean: I would fight some and see if they add to your count.

Mac: But the leaderboards... they are broken!

Sean: You may want to focus on skeletons then.

Mac: Aye, I suppose... so to clear things up before I go... The Seabeards, Molusks, Thrall Captain, Urchinfists, Flotsams, Kelpbrains, etc.. do NOT count for your total undead enemy score?

Sean: Let me see if I can get a definitive answer for you Mac.

Mac: Why thank you!

Sean: I'm sorry for the delay. I'll be with you shortly.

Mac: Not a problem.

Sean: It looks like it is skeletons only Mac.

Mac: Alright.. that should do it than!

Sean: No problem Mac!

Mac: Thanks for all of your help.. and I hope that fog clears up soon :P

Mac: good day!!

Sean: Sail safely!

I love this part. Sean is very, very good at evading certain questions.

Mac, this kind of stuff only works if you are very respectful of the Tech Guy's time and effort. And you were spot on. Nice to know that the Tech Guys are now being briefed about what's coming up...

KeeperOfTheCode 08-22-2010 09:31 PM

This is definitely interesting. I rather like the way the person talking with you evaded you so easily. Not just abruptly changing the subject, but waiting for you to lapse before smoothly sliding through (Or perhaps around).

ruisen2000 08-22-2010 09:35 PM

So it seems like the fog will just randomly lift, no story, nada, just fog gone instantly, from what he said..

Machazzard 08-22-2010 10:44 PM

So far that's what it seems like ruisen. Although, I'm sure there will be a pirate related reason for it on the potco site.

Actually according to the tech guy I talked to on the first day tormenta guys do in fact count. An looking at the BBK skellie total I would have to agree. I spent a lot of my time when I could be on in tormenta on the guys beside the bridge. (Love my nades. :D)

As for getting info out of live chat, that just won't happen. They are told specifically to not reveal anything. It's probably best not to try an get them to, lest D decide to revoke live chat, and it is useful for tech stuff.

WitchdoctorDan 08-23-2010 11:38 PM

Wow, this LC guy seems alright! And skilled at that. :P And I also like how you respected the guy.

Anyway, I would think Tormentans, as I call them, wouldn't count as skellies because iron shot works on them, and not silver.

edeaven 08-28-2010 02:13 PM

they're not skeletons they're really alive

KeeperOfTheCode 08-29-2010 03:50 AM

They may be alive, yet they're cursed. Unfortunately, 'cursed' has become interchangeable with 'undead' in this game.

angel 4ever 08-29-2010 04:56 AM

hmm nice haha fog gone! POOF! lol and i would say that they r dead cuz in the movie if u think about it they all died but were cursed to be on the ship and work for davy jones

Tiberius Fireskull 08-29-2010 05:06 AM

Umm... I think that Tormentans do count as Skellies. I remember someone (not saying names) posting on the Grog Blog asking that and the GM said that "The foul crew of Davy Jones do indeed count as undead" or something like that. Also, they count for skeleton quests, if you have ever noticed.
