I have not heard of Modest Mouse, but I am looking them up as we speak.

I've heard of them, but don't know much about them or their music. They don't seem much my style though, but I like them more than most other artists in the genre. I'm more into electronica and dance, such as Daft Punk and Boys Noize.

I listen to Modest Mouse some, but like you, I'm more for their older stuff as opposed to the new, except Float On, that's one of my favorites. I listen to alot of stuff, not much MM lately though, guess its time to dust off that CD.
