This guide will go over how to master potions, in a short time,boring and long but shorter than most would do it. My old one was not very detailed so I'm going to begin. Good luck, reading this, any issues, please PM or post below.

Introduction

Potions is a mystic art of voodoo that Sandra Tew and Tia Dalma have created for pirates. Potions is almost like a Tetris game, only you must create ingredients and combine them. If you run out on space you lose if you do not obtain the ingredients needed in order to create your potion. There are 6 types of ingredients in this game. This is the ingredients list and ranking of each below.

Leveling Guide

In order for the quickest leveling here is what I recommend. I suggest you do the first potions a few times, they are easy and shall not require much assistance. Keep this repeatedly until you get to the Swift Foot I potion. Now here is a little strategy I do in order to make this quicker and faster to get rep and level faster, that is until you get the II potion and the Ghastly Visage one.

Get this setup for making the third type of ingredient for any.

You will end up with this.

This will help for making doubles of any sort of third type ingredient you need. Now to make 1 third rank ingredient please making a 5 combinations. 2 on 1 side, another 2 SEPARATED. Connect them and it will create the third rank type. Look below for reference.

Have this setup, or something similar to this in order for a single third rank ingredient.

Ok, after these tips please go to Ghastly Visage once you get it at level 5. ( Note: go to Cuba! ) This should be simple enough in your leveling strategies. You will then create it without much harm. Following my rules stated above. Now when you get swift foot II you will do the same, and then swift foot III until you master! IMPORTANT: Go to Port Royal for the Swift Foots.

Making Essences of Multiple Amounts

There are certain ways to make two essences. This way I find the easiest. Get a setup somewhere similiar to this screenshot right here.

Then you need to make a combination of 5 of them to make a 4th rank ingredient. Please note that I had a double crab ingredient making the 2 essences, four would not work and would result in a single essence. Below is the result.

Now to make 3 4th rank ingredients ( Note this gets you one GEM as well for making 3, this is mainly for anything that needs there or the Lively Bucko Brew II that needs 3 essences. )

Get this similiar setup shown below.

Then set one of the similiar ingredients ( in this case it's the scorpion tail ) and this result will happen shown below.

Note: This would result in making a single gem.

Now there is a Lively Bucko brew that requries 5 essences. I shall show you how to make those 5 essences.
Setup like this, this is probably the easiest way to setup.

Making four essences which results in TWO gems will result of this. Lively bucko brew or other ingredients require this. Here is how you're setup should be or similiar to this setup.

Note that if you added another to the left side, then added one to the middle, you would create a soul. Your end result would be this.

If they weren't used, they would make two gems.

Now to make five essences here is what you would do. This results in the creation of one soul. Get this setup, as this is probably the easiest.

Then drop one into the middle( Note: Using a double will create two of the souls creating six essences. )

The result is this.

This results in one SOUL. But also five essences as shown above.

Making Gems of Multiple Amounts

To make a single gem follow the setup shown below, and then do something similiar with the same amount shown in the following screenshot.

Nice guide so far Dog. I too have come up with a lot of tips for this, I just wanted to share one.

You can make 5 level 4 (essences) using this.

if you make the middle have one level 3 in it, you can also make 2 souls.

(I had double blue ingredients, so it made it work better)

Don't forget the Tips on the 3 Color Potions. It is a Fool Proof Method.
