How do I get a subfourm
 

I just started a new guild and I haven't have no idea how to get a subfouram I read the sticky by an administrator but it Did no good please tell me how to get a subfourm.

Well, first off, in order to get a subforum, your guild needs to meet these requirements:

• A minimum of 500 posts and replies that stick to POF's policies.
• Your guild must have at least 25 active members (just to be safe, make it so that you have 25 active members both in-game, AND on POF.)
• Your guild thread has to have a regular post record (meaning that your guild thread can't have time frames of weeks/months without it being posted on.)
• Your guild has to be at least 3 months old.
• Your guild has to be organized. This means you have a set list of officers and other guild leaders, as well as you plan ahead in preparing parties, events, and so forth.
• Member refusals cannot be based on the person itself. Therefore, you can't reject a person's request to join your guild, simply because of their gender, race, religion, etc. However, you are allowed to judge which pirate is allowed in, based on level, which server they play on (Test or Live,) and so on.
• Your guild cannot partake in griefing as an activity. The term griefing is defined by when you go out of your way to bother other people. This includes harassment, stalking, and many other things. Case and point, just play nice ;)

If your guild meets all of these requirements, then you can go ahead and send a Private Message to one of POF's Administrators (Batleth, Lady Freckles, Sven N., and all those guys in the pink capes.) The Admins will then look over your guild's thread to see if you meet the requirements. You should then recieve an answer from one of them in anywhere from a few days to a week, telling you either your subforum was created, or that your request was rejected based on what grounds.

Just some advice from a guy who went through the process - getting a subforum isn't as easy as it looks. Its definately not a one-man show - I suggest you get your entire guild involved in preparing.

Also, concerning your application. Don't make it short, like "Hi, my guild "--------" wants a subforum. Ok bye." You should try to make it look nice and professional. And while your at it, I suggest that you provide proof to the Staff that your guild meets those requirements. You know, at the bottom of the PM, include a members list, who in your guild is registered on POF, and all that hullabaloo. It makes the process a little easier on their part, so that they don't have to go dumpster diving for information on your guild.

It takes time, patience, and determination. But just work for it, and someday it'll all pay off :)
