ah i see........................... Oh well.

Actually, not true. Just because you didn't start with the site, doesn't make you ineligible to be a Mod, although time on the site is considered. Eh.. I'll go ahead and let a quote from Maximvs on the matter take care of it :)

Quote:

For starters - one must follow the rules for the forms as stated in the Policies and Disclaimers which you agreed to when you signed up :)

There are other areas as well. You are vetted by existing staff for posting style, accountability, information, contribution and control. You also have to have been a member long enough that these decisions can be made in good judgement, then if all is well over time you may be approached by the higher staff. :)

Ah, thanks for clearing that up Del.

Do you have a long-haired cat? The short-haired ones can't be trusted. No rabbits either.

Honestly it goes along the lines of how men were shanghai'd back in the old days. A few drinks and suddenly *THUNK* -- You're on the next vessel to the high seas without a farthing to call your mum. Except there were no phones back then. I suppose a homing pigeon would be out of the question, unless you jury rigged some wings from spare planks and tied them to a rat. Course he wouldn't get too far to home. Unless Davy Jones' locker counts.

What was the question? Oh! Moderators.... I stand by my shanghai analogy.

On the serious side, one should not seek to become a mod. It's more work than many realize. If by chance someone is approached, run for the hills!!!!

(the rum is soooooo worth it though)

I really liked the analogy.
