New locations and landscapes!
First of all, the forest needs to be redisigned (like rats nest, wildwoods etc). The forests in POTCO is only a huge grassfield with a huge tree as big as effiel tower on each side. A forest has lots of trees, not just 2, and trees are not that large! Also you shouldn't have to enter a tree door to get to the forest, you should be able to just walk right in, and then wjen you step in, on the screen it shows the forest name.
There shoud be large canyons and deserts that pirates can explore, and it has heat effect that make it seem like the land is moving. There should be very cold places that is always snowing, like a snow fort where navy hide. There should be big lakes in the middle of the forest with a beach, not just a small stream. |
indeed agree all the way :p

Aye, I agree, PotCO's landscapes would be so much better with some of the details added that you mentioned.

I agree about the rats nest, wildwoods, and all of the other forest areas. However they should still be separate, just like the caves are. I'm just guessing, but they have it that way to reduce lag (such as Fort Charles being separate).
The rest is really unneeded, and shouldn't be included. I don't think a canyon, desert or snowy area would really fit in the Caribbean. It would be nice to have stuff like that, but I doubt it will ever happen. As for the lake, it wouldn't really offer anything, and would just be a waste of space. Now if the lake had a reason to be there (such as a new type of enemy), that would be something different. But as Mac said, if they included some of the details (just added them differently), the game would be better. |

One of the problems I've not been happy with as far as the made over caves is that enemies are so far apart and scattered - you wear yourself out trying to find someone to fight.
Keeping in mind that this is the tropics, jungles naturally make sense and volcanic islands would have lots of caverns - so I get that. But having 'some' variety of environs might be warranted. At least with the jungles and forests, the number of enemies per square foot is relatively high - but they are mostly LOW enemies. If I had any say is that perhaps areas should be set up so beginners can get their quest items without having to venture too far in, but the deeper you go - the more dangerous it becomes. Some cave areas are like that, but the current forest areas stay fairly flat in their difficulty. PS - SNOW in the Caribbean? Are ye daft? |

No he's not. They had to go through some o' that on their way to Davy's Locker, aye? |
Eh... deserts and canyons are way too far inland, so I think that's unlikely, but some of the other things I agree on.
I'd like to see new forests, but I want to keep the old ones, too. So there's variety. |
plus think of how long it would take to model all of that we wouldn't have fishing until september
|
or new islands either... :/
|
or they could make these new types of forests on the new islands, that way we still get to keep the old..

Well, except the old catacombs, that was actually a nice place to level prior to the update.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure the developers know they need more land, because how do you expect people to play a second story quest if it's on the same boring islands? |
