War galleon or war frigate? a debated topic
 

hey everyone i just wanted to clear up some things for u. The war galleon and war frigate are probably the 2 best ships in the game. But the war frigate is better. ok, so lets start with the war galleon

PROS
great armor
very intimadating!
most cargo of all ships(18)
most broadsides
CONS
the ship is so long that when u shoot the far apart broadsides, they almost never hit any ship unless ur 30 feet away!
soooooo slow!!!!!
huge target for enemies to hit

now for the war frigate

PROS
most hp of all the ships
not to slow
most on deck cannons
cannons in front of the ship!!!!
20 broadsides, which are very close together, so u never miss!!!
great for crews

CONS
ok for soloing, better for large crews
again pretty big target, although not as easy to hit as a war galleon
very expensive!!!!!!!!

overall the war frigate is better and is worth saving a few weeks for!!!!!!

Thanks for pointing out the pros and cons mate! Personally, the War frigate is my favorite (War Sloop close behind! :) ). They are fast(ish), strong, lots of broadsides, and most of all, the most classical of them all.

This topic has had a bunch of threads and comparisons. They all come to personal taste and playing styles. I like to sail alone so I use W. Galleon the most. I can carry more too. Besides I am really good on all three.

Oh now now TSC don't go showing off lol just because I can't sail lol

I agree with you entirely. It's all playing style. I have sunk juggernauts with nothing but broadsides from my light sloop. :laughks2: Of course, if you prefer to outlast your enemy, then the war galleon is probably best. If you want to try to run over your enemies, then by all means, choose the frigate. I'd choose a war sloop any day.

you can use any ship, in privateering i can sink a war frigate with my light sloop by staying directly behind the ship or in on eof the other blindspots which vary from ship to ship

I prefer galleons because their broadsides aren't really that far apart, and they have more cargo/broadsides

Of course, if I want a full comlement of crewmates War Frigate it is :D

I like my war galleon alot, not to long ago had a full crew on board on a quiet server did some major damage to the EITC fleets like we took out some sails what slowed them down then sunk but later sunk them got good loot and found a nice ram and gold.

Well, War Frigate. The war galleon is expensive too, and is slower than a rock. The war frigate is way less of a target seeing as it's really low to to ground and it's got a lot more health. Plus it's faster, and the +2 cargo of the war galleon is just the difference between 16 royals and 18 royals.

War Frigate all the way.... Its fast, has a powerful hull, loads of deck cannons, a good amount of broadsides, and does 1800 damage when you use ramming speed on one. As Jibby said, the cargo isnt much of a difference, however I do take my War Galleon when I want to plunder anyway. And of course, at least in my opinion, the War Frigate is much more majestic and intimidating than a War Galleon.

And as some said above, its all playing style! Its not like we can only have 1 ship. I wouldnt even compare the types of ships, because they are all in the game for a different reason!
Sloops: They get you around the Caribbean. They are good to privateer with too.
Galleons: Bankrupt? Find a War Galleon and plunder like mad. Their specialty is for getting gold.
Frigates: These babies are made to fight. If I'm helping a friend on a quest where he/she needs to sink ships, I take my War Frigate.

Anyway, I still like my War Frigate more than my War Galleon, but its all playing style.

You for got to mention that War Frigates can hold the most crewmates.

As for me, With the fact that I almost never join/make crews and that my friends rarely come online, I'm a War Galleon kind of guy. It's great for plundering the open seas, has the most broadside cannons, and the best armor. The fact that it's the slowest ship is the only downside I can think of. Like Davy said, it really depends on your playing style.

i like both really ya the galleon is slow and gets hit super easy and misses alot of the time it is still a good ship i always take it if a friend needs money or just to sail but i do like the war frigate its a good ship too my friends always ask to take my frigate when we go sailing well either way there really good ships :D

Well, I personally like them both.

War Frigate: Has alot of firepower, and has the most cannons on deck.


War Galleon: Tough armor, and can hold more cargo. Slower ship than the War Frigate.


Well, Think of it like the War Galleon is the tank, and the War Frigate is an apache! :D

I see lots of people on war galleons this summer but each cargo counts on war galleon if sunk less exspenive to repair and if your about to sink you can always repair I mean like a war firgate just has a little more HP. If you really want to sink a ship fast those many broadside cannons should sink her fast!

Here's a little privateering trick if you have a light sloop and an enemy war galleon. (Not for NPC ships because they somehow have heatseeking cannon balls.)

If you stay close enough to the ships broasides, the cannon balls will sail harmlessly over you ship, possibly damaging your ship masts but not hull. you can use fury, lightning, and explosives, and you will never miss at such close range.
