Leaderboard sign in

Where do you sign in for new leaderboard? When i try to find how i stack up it says you must be signed in.There is no place for me to sign in.

You have to click play first and then get out of the game browser to do this.

magicmarbels 06-11-2010 11:50 AM

thanks i'll try it now

edit: Still did'nt work

seafox 06-11-2010 03:25 PM

click My Page log in then use your go back and refresh....you can bookmark these two pages and it makes it easier....someone said use the My account...I can't log in on that as quickly.

Good Luck

The website change where they have the PLAY button obscure the place where you are supposed to be able to log in (removing the login ability) is just another quality example of the current team's mendacity.

thanks all for your help

To log in to the web site from the POTCO page, click the Play button, which will take you to the POTCO log in page. Once you are logged in, the area where the Play button is will show your account name, give you a log-out option, and have a smaller Play button. If you are having problems, you may need to update Adobe Flash player or allow it or allow Java.

That being said, there seems to be some inconsistency with log-in to any of the Disney sites at the moment. From what I can tell, once you log-in if you log out you are unable to log back in. Also, when I did log in it took a long time. Not sure when this started, but it may have something to do with the redesign on all Disney sites.

The Play button is a link to the log-in page. The button does not "obscure" anything.

OK, so you clearly are not familiar with the previous layout. Thank you for letting us know you are new to using the web interface at piratesonline.go.com. However, your postulation is incorrect. The LOGIN button has replaced the normal login mechanism the page used to have. From a web design standpoint, this leaves no method to login from the leaderboard page.

Using obtuse work-arounds to traverse several pages to then start over on the leaderboard page, yes, it is possible to see the "My Standings" results. Removing a feature that worked previously, then calling it an improvement, indeed, is mendacious.

Wrong. You are clearly not familiar with what I'm clear on. The button does not obscure anything. Plain, simple and clear. Was there a different mechanism for log in? Yes, so what? I wasn't talking about what once was, nor pining for it. Disney often updates and changes their products and services. While I may not like all of the changes, I do my best to roll with them.

:)

If you'd like to argue about the semantics of the word "obscure" then perhaps we should do that elsewhere.

Plain, simple and clear: the new incorrect PLAY button is obscuring the space where we are supposed to be able to login.

Using an obscure, obtuse work around (visit a separate login page, then login, then exit the incorrect automatic game start using a bookmark, then start over under the community button) isn't just inconvenient. It is incorrect, particularly from a web design standpoint. It is also incorrect from a security standpoint. And it is incorrect from a usability standpoint.

Captain Sureshot 06-11-2010 10:44 PM

lol, I would argue the semantics but you would never admit that you are wrong lol ...relax, I'm just playing...

"...where we are supposed to be able to log in"? Well, if you parse the present source code for the page, you can see that it is simply a link, not hiding the older flash module for log in. It appears that the web designers/web master have chosen to now send POTCO log ins to a log in page as opposed to doing it the old way. Watch what I do here:Thank you for letting us know you are late to using the new web interface at piratesonline.go.com.. ...lol, I kid, I kid - just playing around again.

Then you go on to talk about web design. And there I agree with you. It seems silly to change the log in, when the change adds steps and makes navigation more difficult. Will they ever correct/improve this? I am always hopeful, but my expectations aren't so high.

Which is why I try to roll with the changes... (queue REO Speedwagon :psmiley35:)

I realize this thread is over a month old, the real question is: will the leaderboards ever be updated again in the fairly near future?

It's ridiculous, the boards are broke down far more often than they actually work.

Btw, I always much preferred visiting dxd channel 96099 to check the boards over the piratesonline site.

Eliza Creststeel 07-30-2010 04:01 PM

They haven't worked for two months.
