Anyone becoming a "Founder"?

I just got an email from POTCO trying to sell me monthly access to the game once it's live. Everyone else get this tonight?

Is anyone going to take them up on it? I'm considering it, heavily.
The only extras they offer for getting Founder status are:
Half off your first month fee
A "certified cloth map", whatever THAT is...
"Founder" status for all your characters

Eh.

I got the email also. I will not be taking advantage of it.

I got the email too. Im wondering if they will be offering an annual rate like they do for Toontown. I would much rather pay $80 annually than $10 per month.

Dennis 10-16-2007 02:38 PM

I don't think it's ready for release yet.

Ducky Wucky 10-16-2007 05:04 PM

I'm going to email them first to find out if I get a free unlimited account for beta testing. Most likely not. But I'm a cheapskate, so I might as well ask, what could it hurt?

Bizneo 10-16-2007 08:43 PM

I will, I'm also a founder for TT. Cant beat the 5.00 a month I'm still paying for TT.

Black Beard the Pillaging 10-16-2007 09:01 PM

well i hope we get to keep beta accounts for free i dont mind the bugs

Ninja Pirate 10-16-2007 09:31 PM

I'm considering it but i do have some serious concerns about the duration of this game.

Tonguetyed 10-16-2007 10:03 PM

It also won't be 50% off EVERY month, just for the first month's subscription. So basically, if you wait 'til the game comes out to buy a subscription, you'll be paying $5 more in the long run. Very negligible in my opinion. Having "Founder" next to your name also isn't very enticing when other "pre-order-ers" will have it next to their names as well.

Vandelay 10-17-2007 12:03 AM

I'm sure that I'll sign up, and I'll pay for it for a while.

But "Lord of the Rings Online" had a better "Founder's" offer -- all beta testers could pay a $149 one-time fee to get a "lifetime" account (i.e. no monthly fees, ever).

then i'm opposite of ye mate. I'll be being one o' the first ones on there(after :beta: of course)

livewire82 10-17-2007 05:36 AM

i've already preordered, really doubt the rumor of free unlimited access to beta testers is gonna hold up.

dichuy 10-18-2007 05:37 PM

I remember the "free to beta testers" coming up in the past and I don't recall DIsney said yes to that. The beta testers kept asking for it or saying we should have it free, but Disney's reply was "no".

dichuy 10-18-2007 05:39 PM

Also, it was Disney saying something like "Hey, you got to test the game for months free, that should be enough".

I got the e-mail also.. I won't be taking advantage of it or keeping it in mind.
