Expanding Maps and Antisocial Pirates
I might be wrong but I was sailing on the "A" server last night after a short update and I would swear that the Islands are farther apart now.
Is it just me? Or did I miss a meeting? I asked the folks in my guild but they are ALL so busy making potions that no one talks anymore, much less sail. Potions are making the Caribbean a very antisocial place... |
I thought the same thing the other day when I was on test. Seemed that the outer islands were farther away. I remember a few years ago they made Cuba closer to Port Royal. Speedway has a thread here, not in the helm, about what the NPCs are saying now. That there are new islands rising up out of the sea and that El Patron's weapons have been found. Maybe they are repositioning the islands for these news ones they are bringing.

SARCASM ALERT: Yeah, looks like the potions are keeping many pirates busy. And potion making has been such an integral part of the POTC ride and movies! I have to give Disney credit for taking the game in a direction that keeps players logged on. After they add a few more casual games maybe they can take on Pogo. |
wow maybe mac ironhawk was right about the new islands in the phase files have to check it out myself (ravens cove perhaps)
|
I can make a whole of 2 potions so I don't think it will be taking up my time! Besides, way too many ships getting in me way. I need a'being a Green Pirate so I do my best to create as many artifical reefs as I can. ΞД¦Þ

Once people get bored with potions, because you know that the potions will get boring after a while, it will get better.
Also, I did notice the islands are farther apart now. Good, IMO, because they were way too close before. I wonder if they also did this because of the new "shrouded islands". |
Aye, you are probably right.

(I started my pirating gaming on Sid Meier's Pirates which used a historically correct Caribbean placement of the islands and ports. In that game, it took longer to sail from say Tortuga to Cumana, or from Port Royal to Barbados and you had to try to search for the enemy ships, whose location was always changing, based on information from the port NPC's. Now if that game had ever gone to an MMORPG, I'd be there in a heartbeat.) |
Yes I have noticed it too, the islands are either getting farther apart or closer together. I also noticed you can now sail a little longer past the islands into Uncharted Waters/Seas as well and you can barely see the islands. Hmm?... :/

I give alot of credit to those that can stick with the potions. Myself, after getting 3 pirates to level 5 (one one test), I can't face another brewing session for awhile! It does interfere with the chat a little-ya tend to miss guildmates coming on line.
As for the islands, the NPC's do have some new things to say about them-seems NPC's are a bit wary of the new islands, in fact some down-right scared! |
This one might be hard to believe but right after I logged on this morning, I pushed the "M" button and globe/map thing came up. I was able to turn it to the right so far that Cuba and Tormenta and Perdida rolled right off the map. It stopped working after a crash...
Something just might be stirring in the West.. |
Wow ex8404, that is really cool to hear!! This was on Test, correct?
