Guilds?

Today I made two new pirates, Jacques La Rouge and Francisco Casanova (Frank will probably change his name) and I wanted to enroll them in some guilds off of POF, I love BBK but I want to meet some new people :)! So I was wondering if anyone had any guilds they reconmend checking out?

Thanks!

Try Emergency Backup, mate.

Invite code DYAT3327

Come by, check us out, if ye like what u see stay, otherwise the Caribbean is wide open, mate.

Emergency Backup was established on Dec. 2008 by Captain Dmitri Seafarer II, not to be confused with the fully mastered Dmitri Seafarer which is a member of the guild too.

The basic "Theme" is to assist each other with quests, leveling up or whatever needs may surface during gaming.

It has a number of higher levels, regular players which make up the handful of Officers of the guild while the vast majority are basic, infrequent players of the unexpected kind, if ye will.

There are no guild rules and most of the Officers are adult players, most of them but not all.

I have kicked out pirates for blatantly cussing and way off inappropriate behaviour, insulting and harassment all within the rules of POTCO. I will not tolerate those, otherwise everything goes.

We try to crew up for invasions and fleet interceptions, typically on an empty server for added challenge, more fun, camaraderie, less lag! and whatever else! we may gather for leveling up and random gaming such as higher level flag ship hunting, if you rather wander off that's fine too, as I said before, everything goes.

Due to the current demographics of the guild members, weekdays seem slow, late afternoons, evenings pick up a bit, holidays, weekends get more action.

We are seeking for regular players that may contribute positively to the atmosphere of the guild, if ye are one we'd love to have you!

If you'd like to check out Rogues of Fortune as well mate, feel free to send me a pm.

We're about a two year old guild, who are restructuring after a hiatus. I can give you more info, a link to our new site, and anything else you may require

There are in fact a lot of excellent guilds here on POF. I would recommend, (and have myself) reading the rules list for the guilds listed. When you find one you like send a message to the GM. Arrange an in game meeting. There's nothing like meeting face to face to know if you're going to get along. Yes it will take you a little longer to find a guild that way, but you'll be far more likely to find an actual home.

In addition to what TheHawke said, think about what kind of guild would work for you. What size guild would you like, do you want one with lots of planned activities, prefer an older crowd or younger one, etc. Also don't be afraid to ask questions I'm sure anyone recruiting here would be glad to answer questions. Also make sure the rules of the guild suit you.

I like the idea! Jack will more than happily do that, but one question, when you say "Reading the Rules list for guilds listed" what do you mean? Haha I looked at Site Rules to see if that's what you meant, and there was nothing about guilds, so I'm a little confused there!

I could surmise this is what he is referring to:
http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ead.php?t=8116

These are the clan sub forum policies, for guilds that have obtained them.

If you would like to join McRaging, please have a meeting time and day, I"m open on weekends but weekdays is VERY difficult. We have certain rules, and for our safety you have to be with a member/officer in order to join ( see if you can follow rules ). This is for our safety and so we don't guild annoying people. We're at max soon and if you want to join PM me.

Rules that we have,
1. Don't tp without asking
2. No spam, caps, or foul language in guild chat.
3. NO GLITCHING we follow disney's code of conduct!
4. Don't ask for promotions.
5. Ask for help, don't demand it.
6. Ask the captain before taking the helm.

These are the standards, this is all common courtesy, and if you can get through 'em we will make a happy family! :D So if you want to join PM me, these are the basic if I missed any I'll inform you online when we meet,

Happy PIllaging!

All the guilds I am in have rules. I would not be in a guild that does not, but that's just me. Standard rules (see my signature for the names of the guilds I am in, all which are excellent btw)
1. Ask before you teleport to a member ( common courtesy)
2. Ask before you take the wheel of another captain's ship
3. Be courteous on guild chat ( no foul language)
4. Help guild when you can.

There may be others, but these are the standards.

I hope that helps Robin.. Good luck mate!

I think what she is talking about is that guilds tht are recruiting in this forum have a post that tells their rules and a little about what the guild is about. These are found in this section.

Our guild, For the Fun of It, is recruiting and you would be welcome to join us if you think it would be a good fit. Here is our recruitment page.

If you want to join remember I won't send a guild invite, we are very cautious on who we invite so we have to meet you face to face in game first. Nothing against ye but we have to make sure we don't cause havoc to our guildmembers and officers plus our GM.

Dog Firestack 05-06-2010 12:15 PM

Ok here's the map and where you want to meet.
