Which Sword?
 

Do you prefer a sabre, cutlass, or a broadsword?

My new go to sword is the Broadsword. I use it instead of the staff now. But I love the sabre too, it is a blast to use. One of my pirates uses swords only now.

A Broadsword, because they take the most damage out of all the swords. So I have heard. :)

That's a no-brainer: and it ain't the Lost Sword of El Patron. In fact, the legendary sword can't hold a candle to the destructive power of any higher level broadsword. So all you people trying to get the legendary sword, take it from someone who has two: in a tough fight with multiple enemies, grab a broadsword -- in such a situation, your chance of dying using the Sword of El Patron is much MUCH higher.

All that said... if I want DROPS like a really good broadsword, if I am fighting a BOSS the Sword of El Patron is excellent. That sword is also good for taking down Jolly Roger. But for everything else, the Sword of El Patron is great for bringing out the envy and jealousy of others when you go ghost, and will get you killed during a land invasion. For that, you want a BROADSWORD!

Broadswords are awesome.. My favorite so far ( and only because I don't have it in rare or relic form ) is the Military Broadsword with the Hurricane Slash... It's just too awesome.

Cutlass, by far - its not ask slow as a broadsword, but its not as weak as a Sabre. Its pretty balanced. And besides:

1. My pirate grew up with cutlasses, they've grown to me.
2. I've fallen in love with my Seven Seas Cutlass :D

I'm loving my sabre. It's quick, light, and easy to use. Haven't had the chance to try a broadsword yet though, but it appears too heavy for me. Heck, even my regular cutlass seems too heavy lately!

Broadsword. I haven't tried a saber yet.

I voted cutlass, although broadsword is a very good weapon. I like using the broadsword, however, I have used a cutlass since I joined, so it is obviously my favorite.

Cutlass for PvP, broadsword for training.

Well, currently in game, only because it works, and is nice to use, my Favorite is the Broadsword. I know it's strange to hear coming from a Korsair, however I only say because the Current in game Sabre is nothing like a Real Sabre.

A Sabre is in general a Backsword (Single Sided Blade) that has a Curved Blade,
used for Slashing. Not as Heavy or slow as a Hanger, not a light or fast as a Rapier.
Currently in POTCO, the Sabre is more of a Rapier with it's Straight blade and thrusting attacks (Rapid Strike), and overall POTCO's Sabre as I will refer to it, is far too fast.

My light sabre! I do wish I was unlimited and could use the braodsword, though. At least I have an iron cutlass which is the design of a lot of broadswords ;)

Sabre is awesome... especially the Masterwork Sabre.

I have to go with the Sabre. Sabres are very flexible, quick, and I've grown really accustomed to their combo timing.
