Sorry, but the game is not compatible with Windows 7 according to the Pirates Online website.

The system requirements for the game can be found here: http://piratesonline.go.com/#/game_info/about.html

I thought people were able to run in win Win7 with compatibility mode, no? Playing it in-browser worked for people who couldn't figure out the compatibility setting, didn't it?

That I'm not sure of. I've never used Windows 7 before, I was just going off what the site says.

Based on what Edward said, I have a few new suggestions:
  1. Check to see if you have the launcher program for POTCO on your computer. If so, uninstall it.
  2. Try playing the game with compatibility mode on, as Edward said.
  3. If all else fails, contact tech support at: http://piratesonline.go.com/#/help/contact_us.html

I have windows 7 and the game works perfectly fine. After you've downloaded it, find the program in the recently downloaded files. Run as administrator and install the game. If there is a compatibility issue this can be resolved by using the compatibility mode for vista or xp
