I have a different computer now and I can not get the game to play. it keeps telling me that the p3dpythonw.exe file had encountered an error and needs to close or something like that.....
Does anyone know if there Is there anything I can do ?
I have been trying everything I can think of for days now....

....are you using a Dell computer..even if its not it sounds like a glitch in the panda 3-D not letting the python thing load...theres good info in the faqs/forum at http://www.panda3d.org, which mentions on one, that you might have an anti-virus program that blocks the Python process from loading...

"..might try to shut down your anti-virus just long enough to see if it works without it." ..but mebbe you could add potco to your anti-virus exceptions under the advanced options in your anti-virus program first.....

Also, I had problems with crashes,,,I don't remember a particular error....but my "fox" browser was the problem, as I switched to a popular search engines browser..and it cleared up the problem with crashing after loading game....but go to the panda3D site...good luck.:)

probably the above suggestions should work but you may need to redownload the game

i find internet explorer handles this better

I also have this problem

I have installed the latest video card drivers for the nvidia GeForce FX 5600. I have updated Windows XP to the most recent service pack and installed all known updates. I have upgraded to IE 8.0. I have sacrificied a chicken to the pc gods. I still encounter the same "p3dpython.exe has encountered an error and needs to close." error message.

The only thing I can do to get it to work is to open the display properties and disable ALL hardware acceleration. This, of course, makes the game unusable, as it's slower than a snail on the back of a sloth wading through molasses.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Since Panda 3d is open source, I feel like Disney took the cheap route and sold us up a river. Who do we contact for tech support if the software isn't even under Disney's control? Finger pointing all around!

I have geforce and win xp pro...i could not use service pack 3 and had to go back to 2....did you check your antivirus to see if it has issues with panda?....use Disneys online chat tech thing...they might help...GL:)
