"Dancing" ship

Hey,

Anyone know a way to get rid of the bug where you are pulling in a ship to board and suddenly it goes all over the place? I was preparing to board a Shadow Crow when that happened to me... it was jumping around ALL OVER THE PLACE and I couldn't get it to stop. So eventually I sailed on with the Shadow Crow jumping ALL AROUND behind me, like I was towing it... a few moments later somehow it pulled up next to me and I finally could board... :psmiley27: :laughks2:

The grapple hooks pull to where your ship was, at the instant the first grapple landed. If you are "turny" with your ship and try to get to it instead of letting it come to you, it will usually start to "yo-yo."

When people start shooting grapple hooks, STOP turning immediately. Even better: don't be moving nor turning at all, when the flagship becomes disabled. Don't race over to it...just wait for people to take 4 or 5 practice shots with grapple hooks before trying to get closer. And if 1 hits correctly, be patient and wait for it.

You can try to advise your crew not to crisscross the grapple hooks. You can try to advise your crew not to shoot more than 1 grapple hook. But you can't throw the miscreants off your ship because everything Disney fixes is about PvP - never sailing, so they only break things that used to work (*cough* compass red dots *cough*) for sailing, instead of adding ABSOLUTELY essential features, like booting people off a ship. So your only viable work-around for the "yo-yo glitch" is to never move your ship at all, when engaging a flag ship.

Hmm.... the problem is that sometimes I hook on to it and it never comes to me no matter how long I wait. So then I end up sailing to it...

I've seen up to 5 second delays for it to start moving closer. Instinct say to turn towards it and sail nearer; if you can remember to only go forward or backward without turning, you'll get fewer yo-yo flagships.

...sometimes its capn error...sometimes it is a bug and you'll notice the same ship on the same server will bug...over and over and over....lol it does take experience to overcome the prob. in any case...and when it happens use your log out screen feedback button...they can fix the real buggy ones if they get the report...and that helps us all...:)

Uh, yeah. And they'll fix instant desolation. Riiiiiiiiiiight. They'll fix the skeleton glitch. Riiiiiiight. They'll fix invincibility. Riiiiiiight.

You seriously think they haven't had thousands of reports on this?

Last Night had two dancing flagships in row, skeleton then man of war. Gave up on sailing then. Reported it.
