Pistol Lvl Guide!
 

Thought since I am new I'd make some contribution to the community.

Ok when you first get pistol go to tortuga graveyard with tonics and start firing until you get about 10 to 20 rep from each. With a healer i suggest going to Rat's Nest. Then after you finish getting the rep you should be about level 8-10. Now head to misty mire and start killing huge alligators. After a while you may head to rats nest and make sure you do upgrade for a tri-barrel pistol as this is very helpful. Now then after you finish up at rats nest you should be at about lvl 17 and when you are head to lava gorge and start killing the enemies that your notoriety level is good with. ( for example the piratas which is a yellow or red level ) Use Silver Shot and if you can grab a healer too just in case. Each will bank you good rep and then when you get to level twenty attack whatever is there. Happy Hunting and shooting, I wish ye all good luck and fair winds!:piratetongueor4:

Thanks for this guide! I really need help with my pistol. Its my weakest weapon.

I leveled my pistol up to a level 9 just killing the giant scorpion boss in Wildwoods. And all his little minions that were walking around as well...

Although when they went to grey I stopped killing them and went elsewhere to level sword. Now my pistol is little tiny (level 11) when I'm about to get grenades! I might try using your strategy to get it up a little. Great guide :)

Just a thought but if you use take aim each shot is worth 4 rep so if you use your lowest damage ammo and use take aim just long enough for the scale to come up you will do the lowest damage to get the 4 points making it possible to shoot each baddie 25 times for 100 rep then switch wep as this is the max allowed per wep. You may not be able to shoot everything 25 times but you will get max rep with your gun for each enemy this way. I know somebody made a leveling guide back in the day I will try to find it and give a link.

Hey guys the rep system has been totally changed since the huge noto update last September.
I am not sure if the reps are the same anymore.

Just a cool tip tho, each FIRST hit on a high level red enemy probably gives you 20 rep (varies), and subsequent hits are normal reps. Sometimes I sneak a hit on friend's enemies when they do not mind.

How I helped my friend leveled gun quickly using this method - She tags every enemy possible within range, and I take them out in a couple of shots using a blunderbuss. Say she tagged 10 red enemies, 10 x 24 = 240. (crew bonus included And instead of shooting each enemy 25 times to get max rep using a weak weapon for more than a minute, instead we get 240 rep in less than a minute.
(Same method for dagger, hate grinding that thing)

Because the first hit's rep varies all the time, that's why its hard to figure out what the subsequent reps are for a skills.

....lol yes all good stuff here...but Wolf is right...tag everything in red (or yellow) with your weakest ammo,,,,, have a back up weapon ready...lol then try to blast as many as you can...switch to another weapon if you are overwhelmed/not in crew...then finish with the gun again...I mastered mine on dark but I'd say a lot of my levelling was during invasions and jungles and Rats nest.... you have to pick a place according to your not. level....

Really good guide. What I like to do to level my pistol is mass murder a bunch of level 15 Flytraps. I usually bring the rest o' my crew just in case I'm overwhelmed; I'm only level 13. Despite having a ranged attack, I usually have one of my stronger friends stand a little bit in front of me, so they will take the hits while I just blast the plant to pieces. Got me to level 6 and I bet it can take me to 15 or something. :skull:
