Update on the Big E!
Hi everyone. It's your Old Pal Eric here to chat. I really just came here to give my Krewe mates a taste of what has been happening with me lately.
First off, I'd like to introduce myself to some of the Krewe's new members. My name's Eric Daggerskull. I've played Pirates on and off from the start of the game (made my account during Beta 2), but it wasn't until late 2008 that I joined the Krewe. Later on I was promoted to an Officer, but because of recently leaving the game am now just a normal member.
I'll start my story by saying this: I've been doing good since I left. Haven't been having very many serious problems with life, but I have been going through some virtual reality issues. The truth is, I'm an avid gamer. I love playing video games casually (I'm not addicted). I've been through many games after Pirates. They were all fun, but they lacked something I got a lot of from Pirates: community.
The truth is, I love all the role playing events and the player involvement. More than that, I missed the friends I had here. They're all people I can have nice chats with, both about the game and about outside issues. They're not perfect, but then again, who is? They don't become some whole different person when they log on.
I thought over all of this recently, and I decided to come to this conclusion. I'm going to once again play Pirates. However, I don't plan on renewing my Unlimited anytime soon, and I don't plan to make this the only game I play. This all means that I'll pop in on occasion (I'd say once a day for about 1-1.5 hours), I'll try to participate in the Krewe events I can make it to, but I don't think I'm ready to completely anchor myself (pirate pun!) to this game anytime soon. Maybe over time I will eventually call this my home once again, but not at this moment.
I'm eager to meet some of the newer mates, and I'm looking forward to reuniting with some old friends. So open the larders, mates! Eric's back and ready for some rum!
