Sailing Guide
It's been a while since I've been here. From what I already knew and what I learned, I got a simple guide to sailing. I will add pictures when I get some. If you find mistakes, just tell me and i will fix.
Part 1 Basic Ships and how to get. Basic players have a choice between 2 ships. The light sloop and light galleon. Both can be bought at a shipwright. The light sloop cost 100 gold. The light galeon costs around 250 gold. To get better ships, you need to upgrade the game. Part 2 How to set sail. Once you have your ship and want to sail you have to find a dingy. It will look like a small rowboat and they're primarely located near a dock or shipwright. Every island has a dingy. Once you find one, walk next to it and press SHIFT. A menu like box will open, showing a picture of ships. Choose the ship you want or use a public ship to start sailing. Part 3 Sailing on your ship. 1) When your on your ship, depending on it's type, you should find its wheel. On a sloop its in the middle of the ship, on a frigate it on the very back-top part, on a galleon its same as the frigate. To sail your ship, walk up to the wheel, and press SHIFt. Your character will then get controll of the ship and you can sail it. The arrow keys controll direction. UP arrow- Foward DOWN arrow- Backwards RIGHT arrow- Turn/sail right LEFT arrow- Turn/sail left 2) If your on a public ship(not your ship), Don't take the wheel unless your given permission to. If you take it without permission, the captain may boot you from the ship. Part 4 Reputation. Reputation, as you may already know, is like experience points. To get reputation you have to sink enemy ships. The ships you can sink are... NAVY- Red and white sails, These are level 2+ EITC- Black and white sails, These are level 6+ GHOST- Black torn sails, These are level 15+ Reputation is given based on a set of data collected. One part of reputation is your level. Another part is enemy level. The last part is time/shots it took. The lower level you are yet higher level the enemy is, more reputation you get. The lower level the enemy and higher level you are the less reputation you get. Reputation is used to level up not only your character's level but your sailing level. The more reputation you get, the more you level. The more you level the more skills you unlock. Part 5 Sinking ships and plunder. Each ship that you sink gives 2 things no matter what. Reputation and plunder. Plunder comes in 3 forms, depending on the ships level. Crates, Treasure chests, and Royal chests. Crates give form 2-40 gold in plunder. Treasure chests give from 40-100 gold. Royal gives 90-180 plunder. To get the money, you must dock at any island. Some lower level ships may give 3 crates, some higher level 3 royals. It is possible to get a royal from the lowest level navy ship, it's just really rare. The higher the level, better the loot. To be continued. |
