Beware Pirates! That evil monster Jolly Roger has a new breed of servants. These dangerous undead soldiers storm the beaches carrying POWDER KEGS on their shoulders. DO NOT, we repeat DO NOT try to stop them on your own! Jolly calls these servants: Powder Keg Runners.

Don't be foolish, unless you want to be defeated - stay away from Jolly's Powder Keg Runners!

The Pirate Brethren Court advises that you not try to fight them alone. They also caution Pirates to keep a safe distance from them. Fighting these Powder Keg Runners using a Cutlass or Dagger is useless. Instead use your heads mates, better yet, use your Pistols, Grenades, or Voodoo Staffs. Inexperienced Pirates should probably avoid them all together. Properly warned ye be?

Have you seen a Powder Keg Runner? Did you defeat it or did it defeat you? Tell us about your encounter!

Typo alert! "Power" Keg Runners. And do not try and stop them? We have to stop them otherwise bye bye Barricade, right? :p

And hey! They stole the name of my Powder Keg Thread! :o Ah well.. Yep, saw a PKR(Powder Keg Runner) on Tortuga.. Sure, now they tell us! :p

No, they don't walk around freely. They only exist in Invasions. The last one I went in, there were about 5 or six that appeared, 4 in Round 2, the remaining ones in Round 6. Jolly came by, we defeated him, and it was all over for the Undead. They must not appear often.

I think what happens is that they send in the first line of the brigade, like the witchdoctors and pirates in the first brigade, and then once we've been weakened a bit, send in two or three powder keg runners.
Be warned mates, I've seen a level fifty get knocked over because he was standing too close to one.:skull: The whole "don't use a cutlass or a dagger" is probably the best advice to give with these.
Not to mention, they take out entire barricades with just one. I think a good strategy is to lure them away from the barricades before blowing them up, because they will follow you.

I've been using staff from a distance on them. But I see many many others standing right next to them trying to take them out. They will learn eventually, maybe...

I got lucky with them. I threw 2 seige charges at them, and they immediately dropped their powder kegs! I got lucky!

lol i wonder if a doll would be a good choose beacuse yer far away from them once you attune them so you will be safe unless they thorw them like siege charges then that might not be a good idea:SkullBullet1::sailr::GunsmithBullet::icon_tre asure_chest:smiley_toxic::EnemyBullet::Anti-Piracy_Icon_P::jack-sparrow1::jackhat::zn3m0z::pokerchip::thpirategc9: :zu04m1::hut125::beer::ship::johnnydepp3::johnnyde pp1::jack-sparrow2::piratedanceeu8::pirate41::pirate31:

i fought a powder keg i suggest use a voodo doll or grenade or pistol to survive the powder keg runner cause i use my sword then when he died BAM!!!!! :knife:

These guys are very very nasty. Combined with the Gypsies who can take you back out as you're trying to recover or help heal those brought down by the keggers adds a new dimension to the invasions.

I'm their master! Here I am taking a picture with Steve.
Seriously, though, I haven't ever seen them follow a pirate that was fighting them. That's why I prefer a doll when fighting them.:pirate6:

They are a bit troublesome, to say the least. I was at the beach barricade last night - and I like to take the spot at the left end (facing the beach) of the barricade. This allows me to 'fire' down the face of the barricade with flaming skull (staff) if the barricade is being attacked. It also gives me a good line of sight at the three main avenue's of approach (between the shipwright and the dinghy, to the left of the dinghy, and down the long left hand passage). I was focused a bit too intently on an approaching keg runner coming directly at me while waiting for the spell to charge - when, just as the bar was full another 'runner' lumbered from out of the left and caught the shot, immediately in front of me. 'Poof' I was flat on my back.

I guess the moral of the story is 'Be Aware of your surroundings'.

And, don't they move a little too slow to be keg 'runners'? Jolly must not be paying them very well.

Last night on a PR invasion, there must have been 6 of them that appeared at the same time. Time for me alt pirate to back up & let the staffers get 'em from afar.
And I believe they are slow, Tuefenhandel, because JR wants pirates to blow them up-the more we destroy them-the more pirates that seem to get KO'ed. Kinna JR's weapon of mass destruction! idk, but makes sense to me....
