Davy Jones?

We all know Davy Jones from POTC 2 and 3. As we all know he has alot of his people in Tormenta and they seem to be digging but for what? Why whould he give up so much of his crew for one little Island? What are your thoughts?

Notice that some, at least used to, be digging. Maybe he's searchin' for something?

Midhav 01-26-2010 02:56 AM

yea like a lore book or something, you know what they do in Beckett's quarry?

Kraken Guard 01-26-2010 03:32 AM

Not saying this does take place after all three movies, but just a theory..

What if Isla Tormenta was the island where those loyal to Davy Jones live? serve for a 100 years on the Dutchman yet remain loyal, you go to Tormenta. Should Davy Jones be slayen and a new captain takes control of the Dutchman, they go to Tormenta if they still remain loyal to Davy Jones.

Un-Theory. Possibly, i never did think about it.. Maybe new weapons after the new weapons that are supposed to come out? Maybe their digging for some lost Final Fantasy creature destined to destroy the planet? :p

He got betrayed by the kraken, the kraken whacked him made him fly and he got buried by his crew XD

Well My idea is that there is a old Voodoo Relic there that may help him take over the Seas even more so then what he does. Or He is digging in for a battle of some sort. Who knows ( Besides GMs) what he could be planing. Keep the Ideas Coming mates.

Maybe we could ask Walter and the rest of the Mercelines(Spelling?:p) about it whenever we get the chance to meet them again?

Well, I do think it's interesting none of the creatures from Tormenta have shown up on Jolly Roger's invasions.

Given the Kraken may be a part of the next storyline, perhaps Jones could be do. Maybe a counter to Roger to help turn the tide, sort of speak. Would bring Tia and her Relics back into play as well. Plus, could lead to another story about having to deal with a rampaging Jones.

The old better the devil we know than the devil we don't scenario, sort of speak.

I doubt that either could win, both being an immortal force, so to speak, but it's a good idea.

I believe they are searching for an artifcat like jolly roger's moonstone... except it would turn us all into dj's crew for a little.

IMO, Davy Jones's crew is just there because he's in the movie. Davy has been a major part of the POTCO movies, and as such, they can't really leave him out of a game based on the movies (even if he truely isn't in it, nor does the game follow the same storyline.)

I DO believe that Davy may come in to play in the future, seeing as how Disney has thousands of players knawing at their heels for the Kraken. But, seeing as how all of the recents events, or the whole game, for that matter, is geared towards Pirates vs. Jolly Roger, we won't be seeing Davy for a llllooooooonnnnngggggg time.

Anyway, back to the OP: Tormenta is just a place to preoccupy players for two reasons: 1. They give them the knowledge Davy Jones is a big player in the POTCO Universe, just in the background. 2. It gives Disney an opportunity to introduce higher leveled enemies.

P.S. Also, at the VERY end of the Story Chapter, your asked to dig up a key in Tormenta. Maybe thats what their digging for?

Midhav 01-27-2010 02:31 AM

good points Del. Recently, in the opinion survey, they asked us whether we wanted to work for the EITC, Navy, Jones, Jolly, etc. The Kraken might be part of the second or third chapter, and his crew has something more to do than just dig for something. They're cooking something, something BIG

Aye, the stern for John Smith's ship, maybe
