Invasion with a GM

Ok, so I was just on Jamillies, when a buddy calls me and says there is a GM on Legassa. Sir Victor Mayhew.

Hehe, kinda funny that the GMs own guild isn't number 1 huh?

I didn't get any pre invasion shots as Kat put the call out to her friends list, which had a fair few pirates online. Surprisingly, despite the number of high level pirates, Sir Victor seemed uncertain at first. However, he not only agreed to fight with us, but crewed with Kat's crew as well. The invasion started, and Kat found herself healing the all the pirates on Gunners beach, a whole 3 of em, including Sir Victor.

It went quite well, but again Sir Victor seemed rather surprised when Jolly Roger showed up on the other side of the island from Gunner, down on the bridge. Sure enough though, the sheer number of pirates did defeat Jolly.

After, Sir Victor stuck around to talk for a few moments. He again mentioned the weapons hidden on PDF. When asked if they were hidden he said yes. He didn't say much beyond that before leaving.

But it leads me to wondering a few things. Why did they rush through the Tuga invasions if the PR ones went on for two months? Why were the Tuga's only about 2 weeks. Then even with them being bugged they progressed to PDF. And as yet I haven't heard anything about Keg Runners on PDF. Perhaps they were just skipping the broken island, as they cut off the end of the Barbossa cutscene when it broke.

Or is there something more in the wind? Is it possible that they are in a rush to get to something? Or to have something appear? The PR invasions were announced far in advance, and went off with (relatively, compared to Tuga and PDF) few problems. So, why the hurry, unless they are planning something? Inquiring pirates want to know!

Haha nice find nice find. I am curious... why was Sir Victor there anyway? Weapons, ya mean the lvl 6 type? If so, sweetness!

Cannonfury 01-17-2010 02:42 AM

it was cool...there was one with me and a friend yesterday in the catacombs, he said he was questing(i don't remember his name but he was short and fat xD)

ThunderKiss 01-17-2010 02:45 AM

here are a few pics I got, he talks of the buried weapons

Midhav 01-17-2010 06:10 AM

okay i think they somewhat gave it in advance in the Opinions survey. It will be more than just lvl 6 weapons. Lets try listing all we can : Muskets, Bayonets, Axes, the golden cutlass, more voodoo weapons. All we have to do is wait and see. The weapons thing could be a role playing event or quests like for the previous weapons or even like the Casa de Muertos quests.
Well, since they didnt say a thing about the new loot and inventory system, that means the weapons might not be connected to the system.... YET!

Did you guys had a never ending invasion?

I wish the GM's can witness one.

JM Ohara 01-17-2010 07:14 AM

Nah, we didn't but boy would that have been funny!

A wonder on the new weapons. ( not upgrades )

To take out weapons on test you use f1-f6

What will they do if we get new weapons???

Hey Aaron, did you ever think that maybe idk muskets would go to EITC and Navy? That would explain enemy groups. So... Navy and EITC would have cutlass, pistol, dagger, musket, and bayonette.

A friend of mine once crewed Captain Walter during a Port Royal Invasion a month or so ago, then Shaw and Co. showed up and were doing typical EITC pirate weekling rants. Then Roger bit the dust. :) But it seems D is keeeping a steady flow of Gms here and there to keep things interesting.I believe I have met Sir Victor once myself I asked and he did tell me that he was once Knighted in England ,but that was a long time ago....

Jeanne Stormcutter 01-18-2010 03:13 PM

Very cool screens Hawke, good to hear the invasion went well! :D
I heard that someone asked Sir Victor about the Powder Keg Runners, he said they would only appear on Tortuga Invasions... But we will see, eh? :)
