Haven't been able to log on for over a month.
I've been playing POTC for a year now with only mild, normal issues with lag, occasional connections dropped (booted)... etc. But as of early December, I haven't been able to play AT ALL.:sadmh9::sadmh9: I get as far as the load screen, but as soon as its about to connect to the game server to pick my pirate or server, it crashes and tells me I've lost connection. I've played email tag with the POTC IT people for weeks and they've yet given me an adequate solution. Mostly they've told me it was issues with my router or my firewall settings, so I reconfigured the ports to my router to accept POTC, and there was no change. I play on a MAC and I'm at the point of chalking it up to the fact that they don't know how to handle MAC. The most recent advice was to bypass my router when I play and connect straight to my computer. Now my internet cable is the screw-in type (no USB). So now I'm wondering if I need to go out and search for a USB adapter (which I've never seen and don't even know if there even is such a thing). It is all very frustrating, especially since I was playing just fine 2 months ago. Has anyone had this happen to them? I would hate to have to cancel my membership, since I'm an officer of my guild and a level 44 which took me a year to get to. Someone help please!

You are using and eMac or an iMac? Because maybe the minimum required specs are not met by your machine anymore. If that is not it I would uninstall then reinstall the game.

It's an eMac. Is that the case?

I would hope that is not the case. Disney has been working on improving game play on older machines and I don't feel they would increase the requirements. I have an iMac and a windows machine. No problems with the iMac. I have had issues with the windows machine caused by my security software. Everytime a new update is loaded, my security software thinks it's new and asks if it's ok to run it. Over time, the number of entries allowed in this table gets full and I couldn't get logging in. Once I cleaned up the table, everything was fine. You might want to check that, depending upon which security software you are running on your eMAC. Hope that helps mate.

Rock on! I will try that. Thank you for the advice.

This has been happening to me too, for the same time period. I used to be able to play three Macs at once, in three different accounts. Then suddenly after an update, my two older Macs stopped being able to get on. The newest Mac still can. The older ones get that "unexpectedly disconnected" error. I've written over and over to support but they always give irrelevant replies. One time one older Mac did get on for like three seconds, but then it disconnected again. I'm so disgusted with the state of the tech support. It's not that cheap of a game, we should be able to speak to someone. Then I tried the Web version of the game. It worked fine on the new Mac, until today. There was a download pushed, and suddenly no browser will work with the online game.
