Will Disney have to reboot Pirates Online to save it!?

Disney has done a good job with this game but they could have done way better. A lot of content or improvments have been added but none make any major difference in the game that makes it more popular. Some people have left and for many it is getting boreing. Do you think disney should reboot the game to save it, and also they need to fix the problem with lag that many players have encountered. Much is needed if Disney does not reboot the game like a better inventory system, more weapons, more content, more quest, more islands with more realistic design etc.

Yes and no. Disney shouldn't reboot the game, they should just add additions to it. In due time the updates will come however, inventory, weapons, and quests have been talked about for a while. Its just a matter of time.

Yes they should..But it would take couple of months maybe 1-3 years. They could if they wanted less money.See, in all the online games big D has, it has membership! So, if they reboot the game it would most likely to never come back unless they take money from the parks, rides, tv ect.If big D would shut it down for a little to fix it up, they will be out of money.See the life in reality is all moneyy for buisnesses.Thats the only reason why they have membership! They want as much money as possible to make there name bigger and bigger and bigger untill everyone in the world knows it.When they do they will get loads of money maybe BOAT loads! So if they were to reeboot the game what will most likely not happen, it would be great for us pirates but the thing is disney wants us to have fun 50% other 50% is money thats the only way there company survives. If they had to they would but they dont have to!Sorry to burst your bubbles but most big companys like big D is all revolved around money.

So basically... If i understood correctly you are saying that the game needs more content and they need to fix the lagging problem? But at the same time you say NONE of the new content has been enough and that they should put more time into it?

You talk about saving the game. "Some people have left" covers how many percent of the whole gaming community? I have seen a lot of new players coming along, and the fact that Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is coming out next year does bring more people in.

Pirates is "getting boring"? I don't know what to answer to that. It seems that for some people nothing is ever enough, so it is not possible to please all. If you don't like the game, don't play it. If you feel like your wasting your time and money, don't play it. Simple as that. Now, i don't say that everyone who feels bored for the moment should stop playing. I am saying that it is time to change the attitude a bit! Find a new guild, go meet up with new people, do some role-playing. Soon you will notice how un-boring Pirates really is!

In the beginning of 2009 the Community Manager stated that they would be focusing on making the gameplay smoother and better for everyone and the beginning easier and more helpful for new players. Their main goal was to improve our playing environment before adding anything new. They still added the notoriety increases for older players, plus the weapon level increases. We got what we wanted! We also got the Captain Rott quest, that was entertaining!

I think they were supposed to release the Kraken after the St. Patrics' Day in 2009, but something came up. Remember all the clues about a sea monster getting closer to the Caribbean shores? I don't know what but something must have gone wrong, some other idea popped up etc. I do like the Ghost stories we got (maybe instead of the Kraken for now?) and can't wait to see where they lead us to!

Aaron... I have noticed that i don't fall through islands anymore when i start my game, for example from Cuba. That was normal before the new island structures. It is not as easy to go inside the game graphics anymore, which is very good. It reduces the lag! I also like the fact that on lower graphics it is nearly lag-free all the time. I prefer the high graphics, and the game environment looks really good with that. The palmtrees waving in the wind, sunsets, sunrises, morning fog etc. On lower graphics everything should be not-so-pretty, since your aim is to be able to play better. If you want beauty, use high graphics!

i rock, Pirates Online is a Company like any other. If you create something of course you want to get paid for it? Otherwise it would be called charity. The people who are working in the Pirates department do need their salary! It is called business for a reason. I don't know many big Online games which you don't have to pay anything to be able to play. I pay my few cents per day gladly for a game like this! I don't get any other entertainment with a price so low...

Like Sven said, i don't think the new updates will take long anymore. Let's hope for the best, maybe we'll see something in this month already? Perhaps? :D At least we will get the Padres invasions, should be great!

So no, i don't think the game needs any rebooting. It just needs patient players! :laughks2:
