New Years Fireworks

I just noticed something with the new years fireworks. Is it just me, or is there no skull and cross bones firework anymore? I thought there was a skull and cross bones firework at the 4th of July. If anyone has an answer, please post here!

They kind of bite this year actually.... over in a flash, and no grand finale. You'd think Disney had to pay for em all individually eh? ;)

I also noticed this time was shorter, wonder if it costs more money for more fireworks? :degen: I guess I'll have to wait till July to see the old fireworks.:mybadki6:

At the Armada event today someone timed them at 45 seconds. I don't know what the time of the July fireworks was.

It was back in July but this looks like a different display all together. I too enjoyed the Skull and crossed bones in the Fourth of July fireworks. I like watching them from the ship better than on land and have been getting some screenshots.

i believe the fireworks should have been MUCH MUCH longer. It was too short and not so realistic in that sense...

If one is interested, here is a post with a link to a video I made of the July fireworks... enjoy!:

Thanks Zep! Very nice! I have a question. . . is that the Old Port Royal and how did you get a great view with avatar not in video?

I noticed the fireworks only lasted a minute and they weren't even that good!

Angel Seafish 01-02-2010 05:20 PM

I watched them from my friends ship. It was really short. It looks like they hardly put any effort into it. Are they saying "Oh yeah it New Years. I forgot Pirates Online celebrated it too. Lets just put something up last minute."? And is this showing neglect to the game. They STILL havent taken down the decorations and havent even given us our story chapter.

Nelly Darkpaine 01-02-2010 09:09 PM

Decorations came down for me last night while in game.

Captain Whale 01-02-2010 09:15 PM

Where there fireworks last year? I don't remember.

Angel I am sure that is not the case and no it does not show neglect to the game. Having fireworks is better than not having fireworks at all (yes it was short). The decorations were to be up through the new year. I would suspect they will come down on Monday since this is still a holiday weekend. I enjoy the decorations though so if they are not I won't be complaining about it. The decorations have provided a lot of fun with screenshots, stories and home made Holiday cards. Yes you are right - it's Jan 02, 2010 and there is no new story chapter. Glad to see your break from the game is over and you are playing again. Welcome back.

Cheers,

Captain Whale

Thats the new Port Royal. I went to the very top spot in Darby's Drydock (one can see the steering wheel atop Darbys shack dead center of video), then using the right mouse button turned to view the fireworks. Because of the proximity of the building, it allowed me to view without my avatar. I did alot of test captures before I found that spot, I think its the best! ;)
