Adobe photoshop?

I did the 30 day trial for adobe photoshop.
Is there any way to get it longer with out paying for it?

Does it really cost that much money for the new one?

Is there any other good photoshops out there???

Yes, but you could get older versions or cheaper used at sites that auction things. There are other programs that do the same thing but I know nothing about them.

Aaron McEagle 12-17-2009 11:40 PM

Ok. I was using the newest type CS4.

If there are other photoshops it would be great!

Photoshop is decently expensive. $700 new or $200 upgrade (only if you have an older version). Apart from the 30-day trial I'm not aware of any way to get it legally for longer.

Alternatively, you can download GIMP, (GNU Image Manipulation Program) which does a lot of the things that Photoshop can, but is free. A quick Google search for GIMP brought me right to their website.

There are plenty of versions of photoshop out there. CS4 costs more however, but if your looking for a decent, cheaper one, elements is better. If you look it up, it costs less than $100, so compared to CS, thats nothing. It doesn't have as many features, but it contains enough to edit an image to your liking. I made my avatar using the elements 7, but there are newer versions now.

Is this just for Mac users or for both windows and mac?

(I have windows)

Sven Osymthe 12-18-2009 12:03 AM

I have windows too, so yes, it works on windows.

Aaron McEagle 12-18-2009 12:05 AM

Lastly for elements. Is there a free trial?

I would like to learn how to work it and if i like it first:bookishfj7:

Sven Osymthe 12-18-2009 12:06 AM

Yes there is, i'll PM a link.

Aaron McEagle 12-18-2009 12:11 AM

Ok thanks!:mickeypiratezd4:

Now to uninstall CS4 and hook up elements!

Sven Osymthe 12-18-2009 12:20 AM

You're welcome, if I find anything better then i'll post it. Was going off the top of my head there.. lol

Just throwing my 2c in on the matter, if you're looking for something that's a pretty good stack up to Photoshop, but don't want to go for that big price tag, (or you're like me and just do not like Adobe products in the least), you could try Corel Paint Shop Pro. (Priced usually around $100-$110.)

I know I'm in a minority, but I do find it's a much more user-friendly program when it comes to interface and ease of learning. It only took me a few days to learn all the basics, and while I'm still learning what some features do it is simply cause I was too afraid to play with them before. :laughks2:

The only drawback to Paint Shop that is available in Photoshop is the ability to edit graphics and animate all in the same program, but Jasc (also ran by Corel) has a program called Animation Shop to go along with Paint Shop that will only run you about $20.

Jake the snake told me about gimp.

Does anyone else know about it before i go and start downloading everything:laughks2:
