Beckett (from movies) as a Boss

Maybe we could have Beckett as a boss. I was thinking likea giant poisonous toad for a new animal.

KeeperOfTheCode 12-03-2009 05:02 PM

Becket would freeze up in battle. Remember movie three?

Angel Seafish 12-04-2009 12:32 AM

Haven't seen movies 2 and 3. But, I caught on really quickly to what is happening. But I have seen Beckett in the last part where he looked zombieish.

KeeperOfTheCode 12-04-2009 04:29 PM

He froze up under the pressure of an actual battle.

Eliza Creststeel 12-04-2009 05:18 PM

I also took it as he was so stunned that things suddenly went so wrong for him - like he's never not been in control of the situation before.

Angel Seafish 12-05-2009 12:25 AM

Yeah cuz they just kept firing at the boat and he looked stunned like he didn't know what to do. But maybe he could fight then as his boat is at zero, the movie part goes on. That would be sort of cool.

KeeperOfTheCode 12-07-2009 05:28 PM

He just couldn't stand the pressure of being on the front lines. He was fine leading them from his flagship, but when he himself was in the midst of it, he just lost his nerve.

I think he could. Beckett was a ruthless, power-hungry individual. He spent many years working for the EITC to get to the position that he was in when he died, and likely fought many naval battles to get there. He was confident but grew too cawky [sic], which is why he was so...

taken aback when, for the first and last time, he had no control over the situation. He was being flanked on both sides by two enormous ships. The cannons had been put away. There was no escape and no defense.

The only reason he got that power was through financial power. And maybe some royal bloodlines. He wasn't a swordsman. Unlike Norrington.

Midhav 12-09-2009 03:57 PM

i heard he was also a good swordsman but never showed it off, and he always a pistol and Mercer at his hand.. I didnt feel sad that he died but he was an awesome villain! He has a prejudice against pirates and marked Jack Sparrow with the 'P' when Jack had set free slaves he was to transport. Beckett was later given a tit-for-tat by Jack Sparrow who did something bad to him. His cause was righteous but his methods were devious.
On your thoughts of Beckett being a boss, i say nay. I dont think he has ever fought a battle during his reign in the Caribbean ( a year or two only! ), and i dont think it would ever be possible. Plz refrain from mixing the movie story with the game story. Killing Beckett in a BB will ruin the story made for the movies. This does happen in the world of POTC and Beckett dies only in the hands of Jack and William in their respective ships. Same applies for Davy Jones. Some people here suggest vague things ( no offense ) like killing DJ in a BB and getting a Flying Dutchman of your own. This is an MMORPG and the story will never end with this or anything like this...

I personally think a great extra plot point/boss would be some kind of rogue soldier of Davy Jones.

Cpt. Charlotte Doyle 12-09-2009 11:52 PM

i agree that this would not be a great idea. beckett is an awesome, albeit slimy, villain that would have others do his dirty work ( fighting lowly pirate scum ). If Beckett were to be introduced into the game, i think it would be awesome to have EITC/Navy raids, like the JR raids. the only difference being that beckett would simply be the voice directing battle. Whatever boss would show up, would have to be an epicly nastier version of neban the silent, probably with a new name.

as Load Cuttler Becket said its just good business he was probobly amazed that Jack got of the Dutchman
