Walk the PLANK!!! Please!!

I want to be able to boot someone from my ship.
Especially when you open your ship to the public, we may want to make one unruly pirate walk the plank.

Maybe they are not respecting the wishes of the captain... or there are times when a captain may wish to get on a cannon or help with repairs... and some swabby wants to jump onto the wheel without asking.

I can see where there could be abuse if they were sent to jail... so let's send them to the shore of the nearest island, or even just to Tortuga if that will be simpler for the game. And keep them blocked from re-boarding the ship for some time.

I think you can boot someone from your ship by using the mediate button on that pirates player card. It should give you the option to boot from ship. As for blocking their re-boarding not sure if that is available.

If you already knew this sorry.

I thought u could only boot someone from a ship in svs...

swordshot 11-22-2009 03:50 AM

You can only boot from the ship is when your in SvS

I agree with Seabunky. If Big D won't add the Walk Le Plank option while in normal sailing, at LEAST add an option to set a limit to the level a player must be to board your ship ( I.E. Must be Lv20+ to board this ship ). Either ideas would be good.

Every time I get the comment screen when logging out I mention this! I pray we get this soon!

This is in effect with SvS ships.:degen:
You are captaining your SvS ship than you can.
Not sure if it works!:laughks2:

ill go try :P

CarribeanThunder 11-22-2009 10:54 PM

Yes, it only works in SvS, just boot the person you don't want on board. However, you can't get rep or go plundering with the SvS Sailing Mode.

I think it would be really cool to make someone walk the plank from your ship. They would have to swim to an island while their health gets lower and lower from currents and sea pressure.

But the captain can only do it and the rest of the crew-except for the victim- has to vote whether yes or no and the majority of the votes wins.:laughks2:

The boarding permissions have removed a lot of the need for this. I rarely open my ships to public, I'm not able to do SVS due to lag. back before the boarding permissions came about and this was only an issue when crewing up random people. If I had troublemakers in crew I would just drop crew and recrew on a wild island like cangrejos or cutthroat. Most of the troublemakers were low levels and usually basics. So I'd maroon them and leave them for crab bait.

...The boarding permissions have been bugged for awhile...theres another thread here somewhere...you can set it to no public...but they still get on...and in svs...can't always boot them once they do....even the crew options where you set what levels gunners and sailing they have doesn't work sometimes...its a pain...if it happens to anyone reading this...please report it.

AS Seafox said, boarding permissions have been bugged for quite awhile. I always set mine to guild and crew only, yet I find a bunch of strangers on my ship. It appears that 'friends' of crew members can board anytime.

I personally would enjoy "Walk The Plank" at times like those, but I'd rather that Disney just fix the boarding permissions.

Edward Edgemenace 05-14-2010 09:31 PM

There is no excuse for Disney not fixing the "walk the plank" feature to work on regular sailing. No problems have arisen from its use in SvS. Disney has a choice when turning this on, to give the "victim" their share of the loot, OR NOT, but that is a development efficiency choice. The only thing that can change as a result of them finally fixing "boot off ship" to work in regular sailing, is that people might be more courteous when boarding someone else's ship.

Even Disney must recognize they have serious "community" problems developing now. With the addition of "fart" potions, it is clear they want to make those problems worse.

I'm holding my breath, but not in anticipation of Disney actually fixing this, despite them having every possible reason to fix it. :-)

lol, I wonder how many reports and suggestions have been sent in regarding a captain's (in)ability to boot someone off the ship. In contrast, I wonder how many reports and suggestions have been sent in regarding a pirates ability to belch, fart and puke. Just saying...
