I'm attending the L.A. in-person Focus Group

Hi all, I noticed a post about the focus group that pirates is having on October 27 and 28 and i just wanted to let you all know that my little brother was chosen to attend the group. I will of course be taking him because I wouldn't miss it for the world since I have totally taken over both my little brothers accounts for myself LOL. He was told that only 12 boys were chosen for each group to represent both the basic access and unlimited access players. They will be meeting with the actual game programmers and the discussion is supposed to last a few hours. If interested, I would be happy to post a summary of that meeting for everyone.

Whoa thats awesome! They actually get to meet and talk with the programmers? And aye, if ye wouldn't mind posting what he learns or what they ask, that would be pretty neat.
Perhaps they'll give hints to future plans?

Davy Bladeburn 10-20-2009 10:43 PM

He is soo lucky!!! and ya a summary would be great!

jason davy 10-20-2009 10:48 PM

Will they allow you to talk about it afterward? If so, yes, that would be great.

Davy Keelhawk 10-20-2009 10:50 PM

aye, bring a notepad and pencil! i want to know

Kristine 10-21-2009 12:00 AM

They didn't say as of yet if he was allowed to discuss anything or not. He did have to go through a 45 minute phone interview first though to qualify and it wasn't mentioned then. I am going to try everything in my arsenal (wink) to gain access to the meeting myself. I have been compiling a list of questions and comments for them as well and have instructed my brother to ask all my questions in the event I am not allowed to accompany him in the room. He will be taking notes as well but we are bringing a tape recorder I use in college for lectures to record. Hopefully, they will let him bring it in but I am not counting on it. Disney is so hush hush about everything. I really hope they acknowledge the pirates by name that got to participate on the log screen because he would love that.

Jamesvsthekraken 10-21-2009 01:35 AM

Make sure he asks about the kraken!! lol we all want to know the exact date its going to come to test and i hope they dont say soon or very soon im tired of hearing soon lol hopefully they keep to their promise of this year! and good luck to you and him! :)

Unless they make him sign something saying he can't saying anything, I don't see why not.

Captain Seafarer CO. 10-21-2009 02:29 AM

I'm happy for you and your brother!

I hope this is not a sign of the game turning more,,, "kiddy?" I'm an adult player and would not like such a turn or change, then again, if I represent the minority and such a thing happens I would humbly go away...

Ok, my main reason to go with him is so that I can support the over 18 crowd. I too would like to continue to play pirates and would love nothing more then for us to have our own servers and be treated as equals, :laughks2:

I am hoping they are open to talking to me on this subject and i will do my best to remind them that our dollars help support this game so don't forget about us!

Disney is very secretive. I think it is very likely they will either want this thing to be confidential, or they will want to publicize it themselves.

If they don't say anything, by all means, fill us in.

of course i can only hope...but maybe they are considering adult servers vs kids servers...and want to get a feel for what content would be appropriate.
