I've had the task to capture Jehan Carrou from a Navy flagship for a few days now at least; I've sunk quite a lot of Navy ships and still nothing...is a flagship something special I'm not seeing or is it a Navy ship with a flag? Is this part of the Pidgleley bug that I've seen threads about or just bad luck?

Please help, I'd like to get this task out of the way once and for all. Thanks maties! :mickeypiratezd4:

Guess I have to board, which I've never done...and sounds like a pain. :0

Boarding is horrible, unless you are lucky or have a death wish.

Usually level 19 Veterans are floating around on deck. Happy thoughts. >_<

O M G !!! Well there weren't 19's that I saw, but there were three 10's in my face...my now dead face. Guess I won't be completing that for a while!

Once you have the enemy ship grappled use your cannons to kill off the crew and then board quickly before they respawn. If you land on deck and there is no more crew you are just sent right back to your own ship and awarded the kill.

I am in the same..er...boat.
I am doing the same quest and have never boarded a boat or even grappled one. I would love to meet up with anyone working on this.

Wow. I really never had a problem boarding ships. It is a whole lot of fun. As captain, I take a quick look at the levels on the navy ship, when it asks me if I want to board. If I see RED names, I won't board at all. But usually I see gray and green names for me.

It's only been 1 or 2 times I ran into lvl 17's and 19's that myself and my crew couldn't take down quick enough.

Boarding a ship is definitely not a 1 crew job. So make sure you got a crew with you.

Two hints...
First, get a crew if you are going to board.
Second, use your cannon to pick off sailors on the deck. Leave only 1 to fight.

Finally, look up James Foulbones in game and I'll help you with this. Should be able to get him off one of the smaller "flagged" ships of the fleet.

I finally got him on a level 5 flagship. I was solo boarded the ship and the guys were only level 2 and 3. Got lucky huh :p
