EDIT: I just realized, its only a GM event -.- Oh well, at least this means the invasions are coming soon.

The Skirata Clan 10-09-2009 10:56 PM

Maybe they'll tell us more. Like the duration of the event.

Cannonfury 10-09-2009 10:58 PM

Why do they have to talk to us 1st?? Like we are little children that cant read?? -_-

Captain Del 10-10-2009 12:07 AM

Just went to a GM event on Baraba. Guess what happened? Nothing interesting, as usual.

Captain Walter just stood there, telling us about the barricades that will help defend the island, and then just telling us to band together, making us yell "Aye!" and such. After that, Captain Shaw (the head EITC GM) showed up, and, as in the past, Walter made us pull out our weapons and swing them at Shaw like noobs at a higher level player. So, in the end...

Boring/usual roleplaying + Extreme Lag + Us wanting the invasions even more now due to impatience = Usual GM event

P.S. I'm not saying I don't appreciate them taking time out of their schedule to entertain us, but still.

K if you won't complain I will....

usual event nothing new nothing suprising same ole mumbo jumbo.....When they gunna do something real in an event? I think a GM event should be used to talk to the player base on a what needs more development and improving pirates, rather then the cheesy thing these guys pull off...:knife:

The Skirata Clan 10-10-2009 03:16 AM

These events can work to get info if pirates just ask the right questions. Maybe side with EITC while Walter is there. Make him convince us with things to come and things of that nature.

TSC has the right idea. These are ROLE PLAYING events, not question and answer sessions. Not one single question is going to be answered in a way that takes the GMs out of "character". Some people like the role play others don't, to each their own. If you are looking for straight answers to direct questions I doubt you'll be getting any. But spin it so they can answer within the boundries of role playing and you might get lucky, or maybe you won't. Never know until you try.

The Skirata Clan 10-10-2009 05:20 PM

OK, but what do you all think of the event?

Jamesvsthekraken 10-10-2009 06:47 PM

Yeah this is really boring for me cause I really want to hear about new content and I have been asking them to tell us in grog blog but unforunately all they seem to give us is GM events and not info on kraken, the golden cutlass etc. All in all, they said back in the developers diary in January/April that the kraken is officially coming this year, hopefully we hear news soon and not more GM events. So my opinion on this Gm event is ok.

Nelly Darkpaine 10-10-2009 09:35 PM

There are so many rude noobs attending these events that its impossible to GIVE the GM's a chance to talk even. Staffs out, cutlasses, horrible stupid people asking questions rudely, showing no respect.

I was embarrassed for some of these people.... it made me cringe watching the childish behavior.

No wonder nothing comes of these, the attending pirates are so rude and uncivilized, no questions CAN be asked or answered. Meh.

Xhex 10-10-2009 10:26 PM

Well I attended the event this afternoon with Thatch as the GM from the Marcelaine Guild. It was crowded yes but overall, thought it was a fun event for role playing etc.

Awaiting the arrival of Jolly Roger and his minions.

I still haven't met a GM yet, but I want to.
Those people you saw must have been jerks.
I hate to hear stories of jerks pushing nice people around. :-|

I have been to several of these and a lot of pirates out there don't understand what that is. As stated before its not a question and answer session. They are your fellow pirates trying to warn you of impending doom. I enjoy the role playing events for what they are. I go to them when I can and have fun with them. It's a blast to run Shaw and his ilk outta town and trade banter with them.

It would be nice if they would have a question and answer session with us sometime but with the way a lot of the pirates act it would be a mess.

So if you like to role play and get into yer pirate's character go to the events and have a blast. If you want to talk to Disney about game content and problems - send an email. With the volume of mail big D gets I am sure they already know about it. So don't clutter up GM events with "when is the Kraken gonna get here!!" or "When do we get the new content". The GM's are in character and can't talk about that stuff.

Just my 2 cents, Cheers - Captain Whale
