Raising Level Cap - Good idea or Bad Idea?

If anybody said this before or if topic gets to out of hand Feel free to close..

Well, alot of my friends have said raising the level caps Before releasing new weapons and/or quests was a bit of a bad idea.. Why is it a bad idea? Some of us might already have our Notoriaty and Weapons maxed out by the time they will be adding anything new, so all those rep points that we get when(ever) we'll do the next Story Chapter or Weapons Quest, all go to waste. Anybodies opinions?:psmiley35:

They may be raising it again. Possibly the raise to lvl 50 is merely to get us ready for what we must face in the future. Just my own personal opinion.

What those people mean (from what i'm thinking), they feel that releasing the new Notoriety Cap before weapons and/or quests was bad, because what happens if you hit level 50 and fully master prior to the release? If this happens, your right back to square one, nothing to do (minus completing the quests.. which at this point would be pointless without rep given your mastered).

Which wouldn't make any sense, which is why I think they will raise it again

I don't really see them raising it, because although many will hit level 50, there is a good majority of people that will not. It took quite a while to raise it to 50, I don't see it happening that soon. I like the idea of it though, but i'm actually fine with it the way it is now (don't have to rush for anything).

I don't think it was necessarily a good idea, but not a bad one either. I'm kinda neutral on the subject.

On the topic of the thread, I say bad idea. Level cap raise = not new = game is still boring. Leveling weapons constantly is boring and repetitive, they should have actually given us something to DO along with it.

I agree without new quests/storyline and weps its just grinding out rep for the sake of hitting that level. I finished story at like what level 27 or so(dont remember but sounds right) after that it was working on mastering which was standing and bombing, shooting, slashing, hexing etc etc for hours and hours so this isn't new,its not fun, just more of the same.

I hope the invasion isnt just a holiday thing but a full on knock down drag out hope i dont go to jail start to new levels for my pirate.

Thus, having a level 50 does take a while, asuming you aren't a speeder/hacker, etc. But for the newly joined people, such as myself, the level raise wasn't so bad, due to them not having much skill in weapons.
Though raising the level cap before the weapons wasn't really a smooth deal, for those who were already past level 40 at that time, let alone any level. I would of raised the weapons, added quests, etc, before raising the level.

they obviously had some problems with releasing the story quests, etc., and they saw how many players were leaving, so they released this to keep us occupied while fighting Thralls

Back to topic... the giving of 50 before the story only makes sense - why give out a storyline which no one can earn REP from? I don't need a new weapon or story without having some place to put the REP at :D

Will they raise the cap again? Not right away I don't think. The few who have grinded their way to 50 (legit or otherwise) before the next story are far and few - and those who did usually have more than a few mastered pirates which they can use to do a story with anyway (while parking their new 50 in a corner until the next cap increase).

My work has been so busy lately though - still haven't gotten out of Level 40 yet hehe :)

I don't see anything wrong with it. It actually gives me more stuff to do, and although leveling can be a bore to some people, there's really no rush to max the weapons and notoriety at the moment. The upcoming invasions will help increase the rep anyways, so I can take it nice and slow. Also, leveling gives me more skill points, which is a big YES in my book.

LoL sailing and cannons are the only things I have done so far really. Needed more skill points to keep up in SVS.
