Ban limits?

I was banned a few times , I think it was 2-3 times from POTCO due to various reasons and changing dictionary considering " favorable words ", but just today
I logged on my email and found this strange email from Disney:

Quote:

Dear toanuju22,

We are writing to inform you that based on a violation of the WDIG Terms of Use we have terminated your Disney.com account.

http://disney.go.com/corporate/legal/terms.html

In order to comply with your account termination, you must immediately cease use of all WDIG Sites and destroy all materials obtained from such sites and all copies thereof, whether made under these terms of use or otherwise. Any future attempts to obtain and/or access a Disney.com Account will be denied.

All rights are reserved.

Thank you,

The Disney Online Team
I'm not sure why my account was really terminated for but I'm getting the feeling
someone hacked my account cause I didn't steal data from POTCO's site.

Anyway my main reason for this post.

Is there a limit on the number of times you can be banned from POTCO
before getting terminated?

A friend of mine was banned 10x and still can log on to the game(even though he rarely does).

I wonder,is there some sort of credit demerit system for POTCO?

Still confused

???

So what was the eventual outcome? Did Disney give you a real explaination, have you need unbanned? Good luck

To the best of my knowledge, it's not the number of bans alone that determines if Disney will permanantly ban your account. A lot has to do with the severity of the offence. One whopper of a no-no could get you removed immediately, while several little infractions will have no permanant bans, just 24 and 72 hour vacations. If you pile up enough of the little ones though, I'm sure Disney will give you a pink slip. I don't think there's a "magic number". It is probably done on a case by case basis.

I would specifically e-mail a response stating clearly that you won't destroy "any materials", you WILL make another account, and that there isn't anything to stop you from doing so.

I despise the corporate machine e-mails that these people send out.

I wouldn't recommend the above suggested course of action. How about calling or emailing them and asking what happened?

Have a horrible day,

POTCO staff-

They refuse to tell me why my account is terminated, even when I said I am Gm of a Guild! I recently sent a Fedex letter to them asking for some bloody reason and am waiting impatiently.

Then they have the right to block your entire household from all the sites and sue you.

EDIT: another guild master was recently permatelly banned, maybe you can talk to him for advice? I dont know where he went or what happened but if you would like to know who please PM me.

They actually closed it with have a horrible day?

Add: If I were to guess they suspect some foul play going on for some reason.
Most terminations get explanations.

I'm sorry, this is the wrong time for it, but I actually got a laugh out of that.

How on earth did you get terminated? An explaination would have been helpful here

Yes they closed it with that, for some unapparent reason Disney must really hate me,

As stated in the email, future attempts to regain contact would most probably go uncontacted, leaving me just as bored as Jackie was on Rumrunner's Isle the first 2 days till I get a respond from snail mail.

So because you're a guild master, you deserve to be treated better than everyone else?

Disney doesn't need to tell you the reason why you were terminated, because they "have the right to do what they want with your account". There was something in the guildlines/policies that said that when we signed up for POTCO. Did you use an email address that wasn't yours, or perhaps a macro? Even if you didn't, legally, because you signed up for POTCO, they don't have to tell you anything.

Now to give my own little personal comment here, why is it that I keep on hearing about people getting banned, "with no known reason"? I've been playing the game for a long time now, and I haven't gotten anything. How is it that I'm having no problems yet people keep complaining about getting banned for no reason? Out of thousands of people am I the lucky one to not get banned for no reason?

Sorry guys, but because I've never experienced something like this, I can't really believe what you say. And about that, have a horrible day thing, that was obviously added in. I've seen countless termination posts on POFs' sister site, TTC, and they never end like that. I've also seen a few others on here... and none end like that. Di$ney isn't that heartless.(Only sticking up for them because they finally raised the caps!)

I dont now know about this particular situation, however I believe its human nature that causes this to happen. In the many years of game moderation, running a gaming clan/guild, etc that I have experienced, I observed that players "KNOW" why they were banned, terminated, etc. The claim of "not" knowing usually is an attempt to portray innocence to ones peers. Disney does give you explanation as to why your banned. And if there are circumstances they do not, the cause for discipline was severe enough that the player themselves know what it was despite claims of innocence. Noone wants to be "Guilty" even when they are caught red handed.

I would have to agree with this. Closing an official correspondence with "Have a horrible day" would most certainly be cause for termination of that Disney employee. If indeed I did receive correspondence ending in this manner, I would be on the phone with customer service immediately, and I would be talking to a manager.

Of course they have the right. It won't happen, however.

IPs can easily be changed, and as for suing me personally..

Rofl. I have nothing. No assets at all. They'll pay more in legal fees than they would -ever- get out of me, bottom line.

What I said was just a personal opinion. Obviously anyone serious about solving the problem of a banning isn't going to do that. However since I don't have an Unlimited account, I would (And will, since I'll probably be banned soon :P ) take those steps.

I mean, if I can't have a good time via the game, I might as well have a good time at the expense of Disney. :smiley-rpg028:

bartholomew bladeroberts 09-20-2009 12:29 AM

call disney and talk to them about the end of that message knowing disney like i do that might be your ticket back in because i'm pretty sure what they said breaks house rules enough to get someones account terminated thereby getting them fired in recompense but instead ask if you can have your account instead as a fit recompense

Fillyteen 09-20-2009 03:58 AM

This situation reminds me of mine, but I didn't get banned, I just got shut out of the leveling and having fun in test as I am basic and been basic since the game came out, not paying member, but for the longest time I could do stuff on test as everyone else, then came the time where Disney was like 'lets see who is basic and who is paying member and let thoose who are paying be on test and get the full access and let those basic be basic on test'

Boy I was steamed when I found out that I was one of them who got cought off for doing most stuff, and I have been with the game before it even went out to the public when it was for a few who signed up for test/beta server until it was released to the open server
