Hang the Code?

Hang the code and be like Barbossa and many other pirates to follow?
Or honor Barbaossa, keep to the code and only shoot the undead and creatures?

I vote to "Hang The Code" I hate that we can't shoot vets or Eitc ,
after all Barbossa had no hesitation to blast pistols away at lowly Eitc officers in Singapore.

Stay the course and keep to the code!

My vote for Barbossa.

Why is this a poll question? Just random curiousity?

The code is there to protect pirates, mostly from each other. After all, if we're divided - we're easily caught and hanged. Even the No Guns rule protects pirates. If scalawags went 'round blasting our human enemies, what would stop them (with their more powerful muskets) from blasting us to kingdom come in return?

MacIronhawk 09-10-2009 02:07 PM

Aye... I feel sorry for any pirate that says hang the code. Jacks' dad be coming for you now...:laughks2:

Cannonfury 09-10-2009 02:59 PM

The code is also there to prevent people from simulating gun violence against other people. Otherwise the game would be rated almost the same as other violent games which idk if its ok to name them here or not.

this is just some made up code for POTCO. Hang it! its useless and senseless. anyway if we use it we can killing a navy guy in a shot or two. so they better add new things like crouch, etc.

CaptainGreenGene 09-10-2009 05:36 PM

Code?

Pirates don't follow any code, that's why they are pirates.
Any set of pirate rules POTC ever talked about in their movies they broke at some point anyway.

Benjamin Dreadgull 09-10-2009 05:58 PM

For the same reason you go sad in toontown, you go to jail in potco, for the same reason there is no blood in the game. The game as many young fans and to accommodate them there is no use of guns on human beings. That will never change. Not even worth wasting your time complaining about it IMO.

I just dont understand why its ok to slice someone to bits, but not ok to just shoot em. :/

Eliza Creststeel 09-10-2009 06:37 PM

On the game side, it is marketed to younger kids. They dont want kids shooting each other or suing disney cuz they did. The rating would go up. And slicing or not - there's NO blood any way.

Do you really have to shoot another human THAT bad?

I say stick with the code. Disney (not Barbossa) wrote that code so that children would not be engaged in gun violence against authority figures. I know that it happened in the movies, and I know that it is not realistic in regards to what real pirates did. But the movies and real pirates didn't have voodoo staffs, voodoo dolls, or teleportation either. So, seems to make sense to me, in a twisted logic sort of way.

Capt C Ray 09-10-2009 07:36 PM

Stay with the code.

I agree, stay with the code. Along with the logical reasons stated, I am in no mood to have the navy start shooting at me with their muskets. With a musket's range, we pirates wouldn't stand a chance. And adding a crouch move wouldn't do any good. By the time you thought about doing it, it would be too late for ya. And for those thinking that by having a new option added that you could assign points to avoid attacks, it would just make leveling slower.:EnemyBullet:

Very well put, I agree 100%.

Keep to the code! Well this one anyways ;)

Captain Whale 09-10-2009 08:15 PM

The code be laid down in the game fer a reason and its a good one as others have stated.

Keep to the code!

Nuff said....

barbossas option, though with a cool quote attached, failes to show the cap'n actual opinions on such matters. besides, we all know that when we arent visiting him in the grotto, that he is leading a one man raid of Kingshead and blasting away at every feckless ingrate in sight. Remmington never stood a chance.

so aye, i be inclined to follow cap'n barbossa on this one.... the code be more like 'Guidlines' than actual rules.
