How do you board ships?
 

During battle, we now get a message saying the ship is ready to be boarded. But I haven't figured out how to board the ship. Anyone know? thanks :)

In the last beta, glowing blue spots on the boat would show up, indicating where to throw the hook, to board the ship. Didn't see any this time around nor did I find how to board the ship. Although I did shoot it a few times with the hook.

So I am wondering as well.

The same way you would equip tour special abilities. They changed the interface now so that the special abilities (i.e. the grapple hook) are hotkeyed (1, 2, 3), and you can select the ability from its icon on the bottom of the screen.

I'm still confused about how to use the hooks. I had a ship that had the green circles like beta 1, but I couldn't figure out which keys shot the hooks.

Be careful about boarding ships, the navy sailors are all in the level 20s. I can't figure out how to sink a ship that wants to be boarded. How does the game decide? Sometimes it just goes down and others the green circles pop up along with a time window.

Yeah I finally figured out how to board ships. Now as soon as I get on the ship I get sent to jail 0_o

I got the green circles and a message to board an EITC ship, but I couldn't find the hook to shoot (it was in the area where the broadsides are the other day, but it's gone and I can't find it in weapons anywhere) - anyway, I just kept shooting at it and it finally went down, although I didn't get any message about plunder after it sank. Maybe you can't get booty from ships wanting to be boarded??

If you have to board the ship, the easiest way to sink it and get credit for it is this: After you have grappled on, shoot grape shot at the crew until they die. Then you board, and since the crew is dead, you sink the ship and get loot and exp. credit for it. It is much easier than having to board and actually fighting the officers on board. Hope this helps! :D

The Navy peoples are all level 20, and the swarm at you and kill you. I was dead in about a minute. :(

Bella, not all the navy ships have high lvl soldiers. Depends on the lvl ship you are fighting. FOr example, the grayhounds, which is lvl 13, they have soldiers on there you can manage. usually lvls 10 and less.

I have always boarded the navy ships. Ran into a few high lvl soldiers as well. couldn't do anything to get off the ship once we boarded, so we had to stand like proud pirates we are and take the beating from them. lol
