Was this a SvS bug?
 

Hello all

I recently started doing SvS priveteering and have been enjoying it. However today I noticed some odd behavior from two ships I was fighting. One of them seemed to have the island shield on even after moving away from the island a substial amount of distance. The other I saw seemed to have almost infinite range on his specrtral shots. I have the Spec shots myself and know that the range isn't that great, however they were able to fire them at me from well past what would normally be out of range for that shot. Were these players glitching in some fashion that you know about? Thanks

With SvS its always something. You can go out there, no glitches at all and have a fun time. But sometimes people go out there and cheat to win, which ruins the fun. On the other hand, you can't tell if the glitch was intentional or not, sometimes it can just be a glitch on the games fault, not the players.

I know this will make me sound like a noob but I am a lvl 24 who has been playing for a decent time and knows his way around the game. What does SvS mean? I've never heard this used before so I'd like someone to clarify what it means. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about lightning? Those reach pretty far, but then, again, I wasn't there. The shield doesn't depend on range, it depends on time. I once glitched invincible (Unintended) but couldn't move. As SOS said, dont assume it was intentional.

People ALWAYS are glitching on SvS. As Edward said, I've also experienced that glitch where i was invincible, yet couldnt steer the ship.

If you mean the Fury shot, those have some good range. If you mean Thunderbolt, they have a major long range, and actually have the longest range of all the ammo. So, it could have been that you haven't calculated the ranges of the ammos correctly, or, an unintended bug.

maybe they used take cover the skill?

There's this new kind of glitching that I don't like, because it's basically cheating. There's a download you can get called a cheat engine, and it's for POTCO. thats how the new speed glitch is performed, and how people get to lvl's higher then the cap. This is probably part of that. For one they basically suped themselves up in an advanced way. So therefore they probably controled it so cheat engine.....

a quick google search on cheat engines for potco brings up a surprising amount of links. very disturbing. even more disturbing is the size of the community out there that prides itself on hacking games. personally i just don't get the logic of trying to cheat a game...especially one as simple as potco.
