I'm no expert by any means but I would have to say at least, or more depending on the Lappie..

Most lappy keyboards nowadays are sealed units. If it was just water, a good drying out , maybe low setting on a blow dryer for about 15 minutes, should make it ok.
If other than water, like coke, the under side of the keys will get sticky, (And no, not sticky keys!) and not much you can do for it. If liquid gets under the keyboard, to the electronics, I'm sorry for you! |
I'm assuming that your laptop is out of warranty then? If it's still under warranty, definitely get a hold of the manufacturer's support line and see if they can get it squared away for you. However, that depends too if your warranty covers accidents like that.
If it's out of the warranty period, then I'd say your best bet is to search around the Internet for sites (or even find a local repair shop) that may have the keyboard you need. Replacing one yourself shouldn't be a huge deal. Replacing most laptop keyboards usually just require removing a few screws and disconnecting a cable (and the reverse to put the new one in). What model of laptop is it if you don't mind me asking? I may be able to get you in the right direction on finding a worthwhile solution. |
