in this thread i will try to unravel when the kraken may come out and where it might be alog with what it may look like and a few common rumors for you to hear


ok to get started rumors have been recently flying around that if you sail to worlds end by del fuego or tormrnta you'll see a sleeping kraken or an awake kraken if you stay there long enough its rumored it will bring your ship down and you can't repair it you lost your ship for good and you have to re buy it my thoughts don't believe it however i will check though to see for myself and take a few screenshots if its there

next on the rumor mill if you stay out on your ship for more than an hour your ship will sink and you have to pay to have it fixed is this the work of the kraken could be but no tentacles are seen at any of these events doubt its the kraken

ok next we have the kraken in beta was it there yes was it a kraken no well partially thanks to a few well found phase files the only things in there were tentacles and a head that looked like a mine from finding nemo only re textured and softened and yes it could pick you up off the ship and throw you back down doesn't seem very kraken like to throw its prey back and as for a kraken body and maw there was none only a head and a few tentacles thats why it was remodeled but i think the kraken needs more than six tentacles as shown by the development work on the beastie



ok now for the less than likely knowing disney mill i've read talk that says the kraken should be in the game in about three months my thoughts doubt it knowing disney if you have any info post it or pm me

ok in the first order of buisness we have the rumor of the one hour sink the verdict is false no tentacles and shockingly no sink

next order of buisness the grape shot it clearly says good for pvp and sea monsters and there are still no sea monsters this can be read as many things other sea monsters or the beastie were tracking other evidence also shows there are and will (most likely) be other sea monsters due to there being in the quest way back when that you had to take down a few sea serpents but there were none but there were in the phase files which leads me to believe that sea serpents and other sea monsters will be random occurences but the beastie were tracking is another treasure map


i'll have the results on weathere the kraken is in the game next issue remember any info you have please post then we'll be able to piece the mystery together along with the goings on of the april fools joke and march (any info please post

The Kraken is NOT in the game yet.

Quite awhile ago, there used to be a timer when sailing, and you would be automatically sunk after being at sea for one hour. It was believed back then, that the Kraken was going to be used to pull these ships down to the depths.... This theory was eliminated when SvS was implemented, and the timer for sailing was removed from the game.

Discussion on the Grapeshot has always peaked everyones interest, but has not changed the status of the Kraken (NOT) being in the game.

Bartenders were handing out fortune quests to kill sea serpents that could not be filled (search around you'll probably find screens of this). This added more contemplation of the Kraken coming to the game. (this has since been fixed)

During St. Patricks this year, the sea turned green with a bit of lore being spread that hinted towards the Kraken coming to the game.

The unfortunate truth, is that it is NOT in the game anywhere, other than the tentacles you see wrapped around your treasurechest display/journal. Rumors from those saying they saw a tentacle, or something are baseless rumors likely created by the individual telling the tale to boost their importance to whomever they were telling their tall tale to. (it has opposite effect on me, I know they are fibbing)

ok i just noticed somthing do we remember the cutscene at the current end of the game with jack, gibbs and one of the gypsys they said somthing about a necklace or an amulate but it was cut off the game after the boss battle was down well acording to the latest news letter it also said somthing about a necklaace my theory was it was taken off because the chapter wasn't finished coincidince i think so this could be very loose on what might drive the next chapter possibly the kraken


this is also pretty easy to find but if you go to tormenta cave you'll see davy jones crew why hav them in if davy isn't just a little anoying to me like a never ending teaser trailer any info please post or pm i'll have some more info next full post

When Disney decided to 'press' POTCO to distribution, trying to meet or beat POTBS to the public eye, they had to downsize their 'project' a great deal to make it releasable to the public. One can find hidden paths, blocked tunnels etc in the game in many cases from where they quickly shut off parts of the game not ready for release. The original boss battle did have additional story line included that appeared to lead into the next stage/chapter of the story/game (what you mentioned in your post). The boss battle was taken down for quite awhile last spring, and when it returned, this additional animation footage had been removed.

There is no doubt that it was intended as a lead in to the next chapter/stage of the game, however whether this story line now remains is a big questionmark. They may have very well changed their plans with all the focus of members on the Kraken. Imagine that, maybe our requests, changed their direction, and CAUSED development of future content to slow considerably!

Davy Jones is in the trailers for the game, just like the Kraken.... again we all hope and pray to see these wonderous characters/beasts on the caribbean to peak our curiousities and excitement. It would probably not be hard for them to put a Davy Jones character in as a boss now, however I believe they likely have special plans for this character.

Yea sorry but there is no kraken. Besides why would Disney announce one of the updates for the year is the release of the kraken if it was already in the game.

The ONLY mention of the kraken in the game is when you need to get a kraken eye for a quest but you dont see anything instead you plunder it from another ship.

I have searched the files. I personally think the kraken's just another Boss Battle like the Pearl. However, while searching the files, i found reference to sea monsters, as well as sea serpents. these were in the "Distributed" enemy area of the files. Who knows....

dudes i saw a tentacle but i did not fight the kraken i need to find a thing

umm right thar still be no kraken in the game thus no tentacles.... unless of course ye be referrin to the new kraken game (of which no one can play)!

No kraken yet. Sorry mate. However, there will be one I assure you. This game has plenty of unused pontential.

Guys,there use to be a timer in the game along time ago for 10 or 50 min,
When that time when up,the kraken would come.It was pretty cool.

And something came to my head,see this picture right here were there saying the kraken is going to be in the Game in Up On The Horizon?

First, Welcome to POF blaster.

As for the timer, it was in game, set for one hour. No Kracken came out when the timer ran out, you just sunk. (man, that was fun trying to beat the clock and get back to shore... ;) )

As far as the little pic of the kracken there, that's been around for almost as long as the game has, and we have yet to see the beast.

nah man the kraken attacked ur ship along time ago,If your a Founder you know what i mean.

No, the kracken never attacked your ship. Been playing since Oct 31, 2007...trust me :)

There are several of us here that are founders... and I'm sorry to report there's no Kraken. :)

The phase pics have surfaced in posts every once in a while with claims of its arrivial - but it is not in the game and never was in the game.

Though I am amused that these files have been brought up again... maybe one day, maybe... :)
