Should the time frame to be a Founder be expanded as POTCO ages?

I think that as POTCO continues to grow and age the time frame to be included as a Founder should be expanded. At first having a month and a half window was good during the first year but as we approach the second year it will become both a very small percentage of players and time frame that the game has been out. What are your opinions and if yes what kinda time frame and should you have to of been unlimited the whole time to be included?

Nope. A founder is a Founder. I don't see any reason to redefine what a founder is so long-time players can have something fancy on their heads.

Change the status?

That's like add more Founding Fathers of our country. Maybe they need a new level to honor pirate who've played more than a year and still are.

toanuju22 07-26-2009 04:08 PM

well i would say yes to those people who have played for a year unlimited then it says something

but i would really like it if POTCO explained what a founder was when you first start playing and not having to ask someone

No, but recognition for staying loyal for over a year would be nice. I do want the Sparrow that was sent to Founders.

Dr. Zeppers 07-26-2009 05:21 PM

No definately not, as Bart said.... a founder is a founder.

First Kudos to all Founders... You were here when it started, you deserve the title.

However I personally think the emphasis of being a "Founder" is a bit overboard.
All they did was find out about the game and pull their creditcards out of their wallets faster than the rest of us.

Having some form of recognition towards players that have had a long tenor... well that would be nice, but would be just one more thing to slow forward development down.

Founders are Founders! I am not a Founder here or on Pixie Hollow although I wish I had known about both to be a Founder but that is a special status & I respect that. On PH they do also have birthday/anniversary dates. You get a Badge on your anniversary. That is a nice idea. Maybe on POTCO they could have different colors for each anniversary year. That would be nice, besides Founders. Founders are a special group & should stay so :)

It would be nice if the emphasis was changed from Founder "the ones who registered before December 2nd" to a multi-colour system based on periods of time (such as every six months they assigned all player who joined during that period a colour).

Or the longer your a member the colour would change from all players (like 0-6 is just blue, then 6-12 bronze, then 12-18, silver then 18-24 gold... something like that).

This way players who continue to join / play would have something to continue to look forward to as their names advanced through the colours as they progressed through time...

Something like that :D

Now thats the best idea I have seen so far Max!

They are going to run out of colors sooner or later XD

I am also not a founder. But I would say no and to leave it as is.

If they wanted to implement something they could display a little number next to the name that would either show the number of months or years that that user has been unlimited. But even then I don't know if I'd want others to know exactly how long I have been playing.

Dan_OB 07-26-2009 08:12 PM

I agree with those who say a founder is a founder. What I would like to see is maybe a different color name or some sort of medallion next to the name of fully mastered pirates. As it is now, unless your guild does something, there is no recognition fully mastereing, much less hitting 40 built into the game. Very odd.

Charles Darkwolf 07-26-2009 09:08 PM

No, once a founder always a founder. BUT, I do like what Maximvs suggested by changing the color over the pirates head, by how long you've played the game... that would be sweet!

MacIronhawk 07-26-2009 10:00 PM

No, I don't think the time frame to be a founder should increase. It defeats the whole purpose of being a founder. How can someone that joined, say, a year ago be considered a founder?

I like Maxs idea on a color system, although I think instead of changing colors they'll stay at one depending on what year they joined. To save the devs some trouble so they could actually work on more content, after founders status colors would be assigned. Silver for people that joined six months after the founders status ended, bronze for a year, etc... And they can keep basic access people grey.

Shnoodell 07-26-2009 10:06 PM

well toontown has something like you guys are suggesting but instead of different color nametags you get different font styles every week, and on a larger time period you get special emotes, ( i get the final one [2 years] in september) so ya it would be nice...and i think it should go on account age and not character age cuz i hate getting talked to like i have no clue what im doing when im leveling with friends.
