Had all my weapons mastered until I went and got my staff

I figure I'd master that before continuing on with the black pearl quests which for me on this pirate is still at 3 percent. I didn't try to do the quest for it but while being in the process of getting grenades I managed to do a little of the pearl quest with out trying.

I've been 'trying' that on my second pirate but with only some luck. I guess I have a problem with trying to complete quests before leveling up weapons. Probably because I don't want to do quests where the enemies won't give me some rep.

Now it looks like you can ease through the quests.

well, that staff is going to be a bugger to level eh?

I still have the fathers day rep bonus that I could use, but with the newest hints from D, I might save that for grenades if it comes to it. I'd say if the caps on weapons are not raised before I hit 20 on staff I might use the rep bonus for it then.

Almost mastered every weapon, except dagger which still at level 10!

So far, I am the only person that I know who Mastered all weapons and made level 40 without doing the Pearl Quest. I know of one other who tried, but maxed out just below level 40, with all weapons mastered.

Currently I have level 24 on the staff. I did hit notoriety 39 cause I guess I did complete some of those weapon quests and I did use the fathers day quest to give me a push after level 12. Pearl quest is still unchanged.

I do know what the bordem is once everything is finished as I do have one level 40 (in top 100 for ships sunk overall) with all mastered and pretty much complete except for one jewel which I still can't seem to find. I have another level 40 with just a little more to go on staff and I think daggers. The forth one is around level 21 or 23, not sure as I don't use that one much.
