Play? Chat? Quit?

I was wandering how much of the population out there actually plays the game, and just doesnt sit around on Abassa lookin for people to ban or sit around chatting...or maybe rather you don't do either one of these things and you have simply quit and are waiting for new content like me!

if you have 4 Level 40's fully mastered and just sit around and chant...im sorry to hear that....:piratetongueor4::piratetongueor4:

Basil Dreadflint 07-21-2009 12:03 PM

Sorry to burst your bubble! I have 4 fully mastered level 40's, and I still play a little every single day. I have a guy who just hit level 20 yesterday, and is starting the nades quest, another who is level 8 or so. Plus 2 on test.

There is plenty to keep the game fun. Just wish there was new content to make it interesting for the level 40's.

CaptainMonkeys 07-21-2009 12:29 PM

I do play, I do chat, I do want new content, but I mainly chat with my awesome guild so..

I also help others so, I do all those things. I chose "Play" though cause you seem to be looking for that answer:rolleyes:

I definitely play the game. True, I only have 1 notoriety 40 pirate that's not even fully mastered yet. Even if all of my pirates were fully mastered, I would still play. There is so much more to do besides the game's quests. You just need to use your imagination. IMO, if people are playing JUST for what the game gives them (standard quests, storyline), they might as well be playing a single player game. There's plenty to do. I rarely log on with the intention of gaining X amount of rep or levels. I already have a job! This is play time.

I play. I spend some time ranking almost every day. I run competitions and events for my guild. I help out new and more experienced players (often as a healer) both in thre Krewe and out. We have poker nights on Fridays and plan celebrations for special events.

Although new content would be GREAT, it is the Krewe and the people in it that make the game fun. Yes, sometimes we sit around jawing, but that is to be expected among a bunch of friends and family. If we didn't chat our heads off, it would be like playing solo. THAT would have driven me away a while ago.

I still Play

Ive mastered fully 5 players and have lvl 40 on two more
I have 3 test accounts, 2 are fully mastered and one is nearly.
I have 4 guilds that I participate with, two are very large and
two are smaller. Each player I have is better at a different thing.
2 are SVS specialists and routinely rack up high bounties. One
is the cash machine, he makes gold for the rest, one is the sailor
and has the best BB skills. Once you are aware of all the possible
things you can do and all the different configurations your
players can now have (thanks to retraining of skills)
you shouldn't get bored.

I chose help, but I still play - some as Bucky, some as Eliza.

Trying to get Eliza into the Top 200.

I agree with Basil & Bart although I am newer to the game! I love playing my Pirate Lassies but also chatting with my "Family"! I live in a very rural area & am unemployed right now so this keeps me in touch with real people rather than just my 4 legged babies while my hubbie is at work :) There is so much to do although I do agree that new content is needed for those who are lvl 40.

Crazypirate 07-21-2009 03:50 PM

The game is what you make of it while I have never spent time on Abassa it does not really matter what you do as long as you are having fun and being piratey! If you sail only to gain rep or kill just because a NPC tells you to or vice versa and not for the fun of it then D will never be able to keep up with you and you will always be bored and complaining about lack of content.

Cannonfury 07-21-2009 04:56 PM

Lets see, after a while(most likely when college football season starts) I will just chat, help people and rank on Maria.

well from the following post i feel a little small ,lol
i only have one mastered pirate (well not fully mastered i never maxed and never intend to max my lvl 17 staff)
i have as well a lvl 27 pirate maxed both blades
and 2 lvl 12 pirates both with their own guilds
but mostly im on my lvl40 all day just lagging in abassa looking for members to join the Barbary Korsais, aside from that im helping my guild out mostly only have like 3 maxed people in it and about 72 that are lvls16 - 35 so they as for help and we have events mostly i just play for the thrill of being a Barbary Korsair :degen:

Your Gladiator 07-21-2009 05:02 PM

i kinda quit untill new content comes i come on sometimes, ive been playing since the game was released

Dr. Zeppers 07-21-2009 05:28 PM

Well when I decide to start up the game, I play.
Going into the game to talk to friends?
I can find much better venues to chat with my online friends than this game.

Always thought those that just hung out on Abassa 'chatting' were wasting their time.

MacIronhawk 07-21-2009 06:25 PM

I started working on my second pirate a week or two ago. I haven't got around to doing much on him since the game feels more like a job when I have to do it again.

Just trying to keep myself busy while we all wait for new content. If the second story quest doesn't come before my subscription ends then I'm done wasting my money for a while.

Hector Scurvybones 07-22-2009 03:52 PM

I play like nonstop
