Twlight/New Moon Review
I have read the first two books in Stephanie Meyer's trilogy about vampires. Overall I liked them, though the constant references to cold got on my nerves.
Basic plot so far is you have a teenage girl who decides to move in with her father so her mother can travel with her new husband. She has been the responsible one in the trio and cooks, cleans, and makes straight A's. She hates the very thought of living with her father because it is always raining. Then she sees "HIM" and thinks that maybe she can survive after all, except he won't even look at her and acts as if she has rabies. After having a conversation with her friend from childhood, an Indian boy, she figures out the problem - he is a VAMPIRE. He also overcomes his problems and confesses that he finds her fascinating because he can't read her mind and oh, yeah....he finds the smell of her blood very stimulating;-) Book two (New Moon) adds a werewolf - her Indian friend from the first book and an old Italian vampire family that likes to collect unusual vampires - like ones that can read minds. I do recommend this series for the teens. I don't think anyone younger than thirteen should really attempt it because of the violence and romance in it. It is also very dramatic so if you are interested in a light read - this ain't it;-) Tepcat |
These books are absolutely amazing. If you are a mature, advanced reader, I suggest to read these books. They are detailed to ever speck and have amazing character input. They are a never-put-down read.
I completely agree with you, Tepcat. Penguinz |
